Um, I'm losing the ability to post here sometimes. because the actuial post or quote buttons and sometimes others are no longer responsive. I am not sure whether this is at my end or at your end, although nothing else seems to have changed on my PC in the last week and every other page seems to be working ok.

You have to scroll the page a bit to move the post button up as there seems to be an invisible ad layer that covers the post button. It's currently discussed in the other recent threads of this subforum.

You're not alone. See the thread titled "New ad serving solution - report any dodgy adverts here".

So invisible ads are sometimes making it impossible for me to actually post anything here ?

Short answer yes. It only started yesterday for me and I am using an ad blocking. It appears to me that in attempting to resolve the dodgy adverts that show up in that area it has affected those of us that don't see the ad.

For reasons which are probably fairly obvious, we didn't test these ads on a browser with an adblocker...

We've paused them for now and will try to make sure that these bugs are fixed before we activate them again.

No Worries. I'm just glad that it wasn't something at my end. Cheers.

Hmm, just testing. Not sure if I have a problem posting or not.

Second test, trying to reply to above post rather than create a new post.

Edit. Sorry, I don't think is relevant to Tsar's original post but can I pick your brains please? My Chrome is playing up so, for the first time in years, I'm using an old version of IE. All seems fine except, on these forums, if I try to reply to a specific post, I don't see a copy of the post text in the reply box and end up creating a new, standalone post. Any thoughts?

IE is just about dead, John. Other posters have reported similar difficulties. In theory Microsoft still support it, but in practice it's not being updated and it no longer conforms to web standards. Chromium- or Gecko-based browsers like Chrome, Opera and Firefox are becoming the new standard - so much so that it seems Microsoft are developing a Chromium-based browser and will abandon Edge (and by extension IE).

Thanks Richard, I have Firefox somewhere so shall try that! I will pack the old IE away with my Amstrad. Twin floppy disk drive. State of the art in 1987.
