All

I have been thinking about what I wanted to do in for 2019. As I have already stated in the GTWT- Points round up, I am retiring that particular game as I feel the SC and VSC influence the result too much and turn it into a lottery. I have also decided I wont run the Cumulative version of Guess the Pole either, this is largely (this also applies to GTWT-P) because these were just slight variants on the original games which have run successfully for years and I now think it's time for me to be a little more creative.

The first game is pretty straight forward (and is the smaller jump from the existing games), Guess the Fastest lap, it will run similar to Guess the Pole. You will guess a driver and a Time (before qualifying starts) and score points based on accuracy using the same rules as GTP.

The second new game is the Qualifying Prediction League, this is a basically much more elaborate version of Guess the Pole but instead of guessing just the polesitter and Time, you will guess pole, Class B pole‡, Q2 fastest Non Qualifier (Q2FNQ) and Q1 fastest Non Qualifier (Q1FNQ). So for each race you will enter 4 times and 4 drivers. (‡ Class B pole for 2019 will be defined as the fastest Non- Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull). I am not however giving accuracy/rank or Correct Driver in each of these equal weight as getting pole right is still most important so there is a sliding scale as below

<--------------------Time offsets-------------------------->
Default Modified Layout New Track Pole CBP Q2FNQ Q1FNQ
0.100       - 0.200       - 0.300      25    20    15    12
0.200       - 0.400       - 0.600      18    15    12     9
0.400       - 0.800       - 1.200      15    12    8      6
0.600       - 1.200       - 1.800      12    10    6      3
0.800       - 1.600       - 2.400      10     8    3      1
1.000       - 2.000       - 3.000       8     5    1      -
1.200       - 2.400       - 3.600       6     3    -      -
1.500       - 3.000       - 4.500       4     1    -      -
1.800       - 3.600       - 5.400       2     -    -      -
2.500       - 5.000       - 7.500       1     -    -      -
<-----Precision Rank ------->
Rank  Pole  CBP  Q2FNQ Q1FNQ
1      25    20    15    12
2      18    15    12     9
3      15    12    8      6
4      12    10    6      3
5      10     8    3      1
6       8     5    1      -
7       6     3    -      -
8       4     1    -      -
9       2     -    -      -
10      1     -    -      -
<-----Driver Accuracy------>
Prev   Pole CBP  Q2FNQ Q1FNQ
Pos
0       18   12    10    8
1       13    8     7    6
2        9    6     5    4
3        6    4     3    3
4        4    3     2    2
5        3    2     1    1

For Pole Prev pos represents Front Row starts, for CBP it represents CBP front Rows (Top 2),
For Q2FNQ and Q1FNQ it represents Fastest Non Qualifiers in each session respectively.
For all this applies over the last 5 races.

These added together give your Race score, theoretically it is possible to score 25+25+18=68 for Pole, 20+20+12=52 for CBP, 15+15+10 for Q2FNQ and 12+12+8 for Q1FNQ, add all these together and you get 68+52+40+32=192 points maximum at a race.

I will flesh out the rules a little further in the new year but just wanted to give you guys the chance to have a look over the Xmas period and let me now what you think....

Thanks

Sounds good Quadge! Great that you can run these games.

I game I have always thought would be good was a "Guess the 10th place" game. So you literally guess who will finish 10th.

I have had an idea for another new game. The idea isn't originally from me, saw it originally elsewhere early this decade.

The basic prediction would be made prior to the season, but the driver changes would give option to edit. If there is no driver change like last year, the contest would end after Brazilian GP.

That's because there are currently 20 seats and 21 races. The point would be to pick a driver for each race and then score points according to the result. The target would be to get as few points as possible. Each driver awards points according to their finishing position. Non-classified drivers will be following them and if anyone gets disqualified, the driver(s) are placed last of the starters. Non-starters will be below that.

Using last year's US GP as an example, Räikkönen awards 1 point, Verstappen 2, Hamilton 3, last finisher Stroll 14 followed by DNFs in positions 15 to 18. Of the two disqualified drivers, Ocon finished ahead so it's 19 for him and 20 for Magnussen.

The trick would be that each driver can be used just once. So there will be natural shake-up when someone picks driver in a good race and someone else in a bad race.
