Porsche has not competed in F1 since its failed engine programme in 1991 with the Footwork team, pictured below.

 

The photo referenced in the article is of Alex Caffi in a Footwork at Spa (entering Eau Rouge) in 1991. The Porsche engine the article references was abandoned by Silverstone, a few races earlier - so the example in the photo is Ford powered.

 

I'll pick my anorak up as I'm leaving.  :wave:

To be fair, it only says the Footwork team is pictured below, not the Footwork-Porsche...

I says the 'failed engine programme with Footwork' in the picture below - we could give them the benefit of the doubt, but I've picked my hill to die on and I ain't budging.
