Cheadle hillclimb event in Edwardian times

I recently came across couple of photographs showing what seemed like the standing start of a motor race, probably hillclimb, listed as Cheadle. The cars looked like large 4 seater tourers, with wooden spoked artillery wheels so probably pre 1920. I contacted by the source to ask if there was a date on the back of the photos.
The cars appear to be starting alongside an old stone building rather like some current venues amd the banner above them carries the Start legend.
Any thoughts?

A hillclimb was run at Oakamoor, three miles east of Cheadle on what is now the B5417, between 1906 and 1912. Julian Hunt in Motorsport Explorer noted that the course was 1,460 yards long and ran between the Star at Oakamoor and Threelows public house. The venue was also known as Star Hill. Traffic was always a problem during competitions; this was the main reason why the venue was not used again after 1912. Both Julian and Tim Nicholson in Sprint provided brief results for most of the events.

Very interesting - thanks Pete (and Roger).  And according to my map, just thirty miles north of the Curborough Sprint course.  So, is there a connection somewhere I wonder?

I wonder if this is just a normal road closure or one authorised by Motorsport UK but as it's not competitive then presumably not , rather like Kop.
