Hi all, desperately trying to find Bob Egginton, he owned a company called ASD in Kent, built his own racing cars and also was with John Surtees team, BMC COMP and also Derrington - he built up a Lotus 23 chassic to accept a 2.4 911 porsche running gear and sourced a genuine very early (1961) 23 body, which was originally white with blue stripes?? this is my main question...who's body was it?? - I now own the car and the chassis and suspension work is exquisite - desperately trying to find out more about this unique car...a tribute to George Follmer's 23b porsche??? all help VERY gratefully received!!!

My recollection is that the first appearance of the 23 was about May, 1962. Isn't that right?

Yes, correct sorry....mine has the little aluminium panel behind drivers right shoulder as in the picture of Jim Clark at Nurburgh in May 62 - I have noticed also, looking at the myriad of online 23 photos...was here a difference in the bonnet of the 23 and the B's? - I notice all the early cars have a fairly straight center curvature to the screen and then the upward flare to the dash, on many I have seen the bonnet dips considerably before the screen, best to be notice on a car with a center stripe. Maybe these are reproduction parts from crashed etc??
