Moving buttons on home page

This really really winds me up!! (and has gone on for a long time now)

When you load the home page the main buttons move up to 3 times as adverts etc load.

Can you not fix them in place? Its ridiculous and reminds me of website design from about 2004.

How does your lead developer allow such shoddy design and user experience? I would literally sack whoever is responsible for this as what else are they not doing properly.

Oh and when testing make sure there is no cache involved as I can see it now (refresh refresh refresh) "it works fine for me boss, must be the customer end"

p.s. Chrome, Safari, IE, Win 7, Win 10 and Mac OS are all the same.

The problem comes from the way that the ad slots are flexible (different sized ads or no ads might appear in any given slot) and load asynchronously. Ironically, this wouldn't have been a problem back in 2004 when we would have been using a fixed template rather than allowing the page to be flexible and responsive!

You've actually asked this with great timing - I was talking to our developers about a fix for this last Friday and we've got some ideas which we're hoping to implement within the next week or two. I hope that no one will be sacked as you're suggesting. On top of anything else that would just mean that it will take us much longer to fix this...
