Alpha Tauri AT01 (Technical Thread)

Love it. Simple,clean, and powerful. Simplicity is completely lost on most of these designers, who seem to think busier = better.

No idea if its good, but it is a properly nice looking car

Old Toro Rosso livery was much much better in my opinion.

Yeah. It's not better, it's new just. I mean, it's white.

I was expecting carbon fiber with reflective silver but this looks nice too. I hope they fight for best of the rest again, but this time more consistently.

Looks like a happy pairing. Boding well for the next season

Guys, to me this looks like the RB15 in a different livery.

Well, it is given that they would get previous year RB as a base. So no surprise in there.

But I really like this livery. So far the best one.

Yep, Marko confirmed it is basically RB15. Expect Gasly to struggle again as he hated it.

So if Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri always get the previous years Red Bull, what will they do next year with the massive rule changes?

It was the same case in 2019.

Lovely livery, second best so far in my opinion.  I'll need to spend some time looking at the new design elements to form an opinion there, but the basic car (shape wise) looks ugly as sin.

The best paint job of them all imo, Best looking car yet. I hope to see Danil go well this season I'm a big fan of his and think he is better than many give him credit for.

Liking the livery, the colour scheme reminds me of the old Brabhams.

AT has proved to be a better car on pure pace than the Ferrari this season. Think they will finish ahead of the Scuderia too

Exactly.  I even said that back then, they should have just called it Minardi Red Bull or Red Bull Minardi or what you suggested... I think it would have retained a much cuter identity for the original fans.  Just naming it the meaningless Toro Rosso made it kind of a soul-less entity nobody really cared much about either way.  By keeping the Minardi spirit and name, I feel they could have had a lot more following.

Case in point:  this thread being dormant since February!

I read Kvyat didn’t even congratulate Gasly on his win? What a sore loser he is if that’s true. Though, he’s never struck me as sympathetic guy on TV either. Shocking really that Gasly as over 40 points now to Kvyat’s 4. Very reminiscent of Sainz vs Kvyat back in 2017 points wise. I would be very surprised if Kvyat is still around next season.

It will be interesting how AT evolves as there will be a lot of transfer personnel between RBR and AT due to budget cap.
