Paul Pietsch Maserati 4CLT

Paul Pietsch drove a Maserati 4CLT/48 or 4CLT/50 at the Italian GP in 1950. There are some inconsistencies regarding this entry. Sources either list Pietsch as a private entry driving a Maserati 4CLT/48 or as a Scuderia Milano entry driving a Maserati 4CLT/50 (chassis 1612). Unfortunately I can't find any pictures of Pietsch's Maserati at this race.

It is well known Pietsch drove a Maserati 4CLT in German hill climb races. Winning the Bergpreis Freiburg Hill Climb in 1950. Felice Bonetto finished second in this hill climb. Looking at the pictures in revs institute the car of Bonetto was definitely a Milano Maserati (either chassis 1611 or 1612) I'm not sure on Pietsch his car. But this could be the link to the Milano team.

I would like to know which chassis Pietsch drove at the 1950 Italian Grand Prix and the chassis used by Pietsch and Bonetto at the Freiburg hill climb. Any information or more pictures would be greatly appreciated.

As you can see, there are 152 photos of the 1950 Italian Grand Prix taken by Corrado Millanta as well as 67 photos from the 1950 Freiburg event.

Pietsch drove a Scuderia Milano Maserati at the Schauinsland (Freiburg), that is well documented. I have even seen a picture in a period magazine, not sure though which of the two cars that was. I think one had the Speluzzi-modified engine at the time, and the other one not. Will have to rummage in my stuff when at home, but not sure whether I find the time before the weekend. Surely someone here has the info at his fingertips?

From pictures from the revs library, Pietsch was in the "normal" looking 4CLT, Bonetto with the Milano with the new styling. Whether Pietsch´s car had a Speluzzi engine as well, I do not knoww how to recognize.

Also interesting, that for the German GP 1951 then he had practiced on a Scuderia Platé car (#1598?) before he was invited to drive the Alfa Romeo. Probably the same car again at Schauinsland 1951. And for the Eifelrennen 1953 he was back with Scuderia Milan in one of their A6GCM (#2033 probably?).
