Kind of similar to the Ric, KMag incident, so I expect +5s for Lewis.

Racing incident. Albon left a huge door open, this stuff can happen. Nobody's fault
#8

Racing incident, no penalty.

Need to see some proper angles to be honest. It looks like Albon left the door open and then turned into Lewis, but I would want to see it again.

Albon "left a gap" because he was taking the normal racing line. Hamilton locked up, and hit him. It's a penalty for Hamilton, but a self-induced podium lost for Albon.

Albon left the door open and turned into Hamilton. Albon penalty IMHO.
Tell Lewis that.
#13
Posted 17 November 2019 - 18:54
Hamilton just owned up and said it's his own fault.

Taking the racing line = leaving door open? Albon was ahead, Lewis went for a dive that wasn’t on. Same as Ricciardo on Mag.

Lewis is a sport. Comparing this to Vettel's reaction..

Ah, Lewis has just taken full responsibility.
#18
Posted 17 November 2019 - 18:54
Lewis said it's his fault and apologised.
Whether or not there's a penalty is another matter.

Almost too honest.

Tell Lewis that.
Lewis hasn’t got 5 different camera angles and 5 replays to see the incident.

that's exact what leaving the door open means

Racing incident as Lewis didn't collide on purpose. Mistakes belong to racing.

Lewis sticking his nose in a gap that was always going to close. He wasn’t alongside enough.

From the limited replays/views I've seen, it's a bit like the WRX ending. It's not really an overtaking chance, but it is at a certain point in the race, you are better off closing it a bit instead of inviting people to have a chance.
What I'm gonna vote in the poll... can wait after a replay or 20!

Nice from Lewis, to be honest about it, not like his fans

You don't really need them to judge who was at fault here. The move simply wasn't on.

First rule after a road traffic collision - NEVER APOLOGISE OR ADMIT LIABILITY!
Lewis might just regret that interview (or maybe he has resigned himself to getting a penalty anyway).

That's on Lewis. Very optimistic move. Nice of him to apologize and take the blame for the collission.

The way albon spun around like a pendulum tells you how far alongside he was. WE saw much less clumsy racing into the higher speed into T1 today. Even if it's 60-40, its still more Lewi's fault than Albon's.
Would love to see some clips of it though,
Edit: Respect to Lewis for admitting it. He gains/loses nothing either way as both championships are buttoned up, except a podium record.

Hamilton's fault. He was very clumsy, the move was never on. Feel for Albon.
The move was clearly on

You seem to have an issue with Hamilton and his millions of fans. Get over it.
60/40 fault with the emphasis leaning towards Hamilton at fault. Albon left a big gap open, though. Feel gutted for Albon, so close to his first podium.

Neither did Ric on Mag.
Ham steamed in locked up from a long way back.

Even more so when you have someone like Lewis that close.
Albon was too nice.

First glance it was penalty for Lewis but I will withhold my vote until I see a replay

Albon did leave the door open a bit, but Hamilton was too impetuous, he would have got Albon with DRS on the straight.

“If you no longer go for a gap which exists you are no longer a racing driver”
Someone said that once.
#43
Posted 17 November 2019 - 19:04
Lewis 100% at fault, the gap was there, once he went for it - no way back once the gap closed.

Would he, the Mercedes couldn't outdrag the toro roso.

How does that logic work out?
#48
Posted 17 November 2019 - 19:06
Racing incident - Albon left the door open, Lewis took advantage but was just in the wrong place when Albon tried to correct his error. Lewis couldn't really be any more on the inside of the turn than he already was.

Posted 17 November 2019 - 19:07
I'd say Albon left the door open, but it was still an unnecessary, borderline careless move. So I'd understand if Lewis gets penalised.

Well who knows ultimatley, but he was alongside the Toro Rosso and would have stood a very good change of outbraking him into the first corner had their had the race gone on another lap. Was the safer option, but Hamilton made a split second decision based on Albon leaving the door open.
