I have missed this. Good catch by Woking tho.

Well it clearly isn't. As you've said it's in matte and it has a lot less blue on the backside and with it the hideous diamond shapes have disappeared. So in no way it is the same livery as in 2018.

That's 2019.

Proper factory launches so far. Thank heavens for the fact that the past years we have seen this more and more and many have ditched the pitlane launches.

We believing Lando actually leaked it in that live video or was it a planned leak?

There's good publicity in seemingly accidental information leaks. People talk about it, like us!

We need the good old days of dramatic, eccentric launches involving super models and unopenable bottles of champagne.

At least pitlane launches have a physical car. Much better than the digital launches we seem to get at the moment, where all we get is a few pre-rendered pics.

Some teams have done so yes. But I believe McLaren and Ferrari have not done this in recent years.
Anyways, we all know Williams will present the car first with renders in some automotive/racing magazine 😉

My guess is before this date the car/livery will be shown.

I'm gonna guess livery, there been some rumors that Williams will have Red cars maybe something like the Formula E team has with RoKit but i'm not to sure.

I hope so. I have no idea why they had a baby blue livery last year.

Maybe the RoKit deal was only put together at the last minute though.

Don't really like too many factory launches because that mean we get launches later and all of them go at once at the first testing which is nothing special

It was. Even in preseason testing the team wear didn't have Rokit on it.

Didn’t Frank say he’d never go red again and the team is white and blue... I get money talks but based on Franks previous comments about, kind of hard to phantom seeing a red Williams again. I hope they stay the course of blue and white.

I’d like to see all teams launch together at a major major kickoff event on a set weekend every year like car manufacturers used to do at a major auto show.. now they do so at many not just Detroit but it would be cool to see all of them on the same stage launching car after car.

He might of but im not sure if or when he said it. If it was during the early years when they were with BMW then sure, because they were in a much better spot in terms of money, sponsorship and performance. But the way Williams are today I don't think he cares what color the car is as long the money comes in to help fund the team. For me as a Williams fan I don't care what color the car is, I just want to see Williams have sponsorship and the funds to hope someday at competing up front again.

La Gazzetta dello Sport released an alleged image which leaked the design of the 2020 Ferrari F1 challenger. It is believed that the 2020 Ferrari project, dubbed ‘Project 671’ will be far quicker than its predecessor, the Ferrari SF90. Gazzetta claimed that Ferrari will introduce radically different wings, as well as a hydraulic damper system. The bad news for Ferrari is that the damper system will reportedly be banned in 2021, in order to create as much vertical load as possible.

Of course, since there has been no word from the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team, so the supposed leak should be taken with a pinch of salt.

52d9c038d04fc6e1667542fee67f95210428b06d

apparently there are some leaks:

Corriere dello Sport:

There are rumors from Maranello that they have designed the gearbox even more compact. This not only results in weight savings, but also ensures that the drive shaft can be placed three centimeters forward.

Due to the shorter wheelbase that results, the car's rake also changes. It becomes a little steeper. That is, the car leans slightly more forward than it already did. The geometry of the car will then be comparable to that of the RB15 from Red Bull Racing.

Leo Turrini on Quotidiano:

it seems that the results of the simulation and wind tunnel tests have not yet impressed the Maranello technicians. However, let's keep in mind that there is still time [to do something about it].

I guess other teams (HAAS/Alfa Romeo) use the same gearbox?

Renault doing a "season opener" event on February 12th. Probably just a livery unveiling without the new car then.

2020 Williams has successfully passed the crash-test on the first try.

Apparently they failed 6 times in the 2019 test

Well that’s good news. Hopefully a sign that the manufacturing department’s problems are being rectified, post-Lowe.

Looks to be it has very narrow side pods. It fits between the inside shoulder of rear tire.

Can the floor woodier than the width of the side pods? Or the fins around the intake acting as the dimension definer? Or the width of the floor totally nothing to do with nothing, and defined by the rule book?

Who else has passed the crash tests? Just Racing Point and Ferrari and now Williams? Any other rumours that I have missed?

I think you're correct. The other news article I've seen is that Alfa has failed back in December:

Yes, they also can use the carbon fibre they saved to actually make spare parts.  :rotfl:

Mercedes on Valentines Day (rip Alpha Tauri)

https://twitter.com/...118011917221888

Though, as last year, no public launch

Mercedes will present their new W11 in an event at Silverstone on February 14th but have confirmed the launch won’t be open to the media or the public.
The world champions stopped opening their launches to the media in 2019 and will hold its pre-season event behind closed doors again this year. The W11 is due to have its first run on the Silverstone International Circuit and the team plans to issue images and footage from the test.

Correct. This is why only priests are allowed to drive black cars.
