I had a search back, and was surprised that there isn’t a thread for motorsport video/youtube recommendations. There are a couple old dead threads from 10 years ago which contain mostly dead links... but the quality/amount of videos available these days is way beyond what it was back when Bernie/FOM would kill videos as soon as they hit YouTube.

Now they actually embrace the platform, and the F1 YouTube channel is actually superb, I enjoy their highlight videos for every session, but also their ‘team radio’ videos, and their ‘from every angle’ series of uploads. There’s a lot of stuff that isn’t broadcast on the main feed that ends up being shown on their YouTube videos and it makes it worth a look, especially when the season isn’t a classic.

But yeah, I thought it might be handy to have a place for us to post up anything we might deem suggestion-worthy for round these parts. Doesn’t have to be F1, obvz.

One channel I really enjoy is Josh Revell and his ‘WTF happened to...’ series. A new video posted tonight which delves into the story of Scott Speed which was well worth a watch.

(This is a nice idea -- but please don't post links to any full F1 races or significant highlights, unless they're from the official F1 channel.)

Don't think it's a very good idea for those without high internet speeds. I'd thought this has been established in ths past, hence the non provision of the thread of this type. Links are fine of course. There's a music video thread in the PC which is completely inaccessible by me once 3-4 videos have been uploaded on a new page.

Never thought I'd see Jodie Kidd involved with pornography. That Ferrari still looks awesome.

A lot of interesting content can be found here, the owner of this company bought many of the Toyota f1 cars, along with the tools, parts etc. They have some more old f1 cars as well:

Does this only apply to 1982 and beyond (post-FOM)? Prior to that, FOM/F1 does not own the rights.

1981 actually, but yeah, I guess so.

I get my fill of wheel-to-wheel action with F1TV and Peacock (Indycar), but I go to youtube to find videos that help me get closer to really experiencing cars both old and new.  One of my favorite channels for this is 19Bozzy92, who does trackside recordings with high-quality audio at various testing days, track days, historic reunions, etc. For example, this recent video of JPM driving the Ferrari F2008 or this video of the 512 BB Competizione including onboard footage or this video of various Group C cars in a historic race

But the best stuff on youtube is the 3D binaural audio recordings, and Bozzy makes these too.  These are recorded with special mics that replicate the shape, direction and separation of human ears so that left and right channels better represent how a human would hear it onsite.  When listening, you need headphones on to get that proper 3D stereo effect.  The difference can seem subtle at first but it does an even better job of making you feel like you're right there in the middle of.  This is a playlist of 3D binaural from 19Bozzy92, and here is a good example to start with:  more Group C historic racing
