Might I commend to TNF this lovely video - Hugh Langrishe who was Ron Flockhart's sometime friend and business partner - recommended to me by present-day D-Type owner Clive Beecham and I think admirably well made... Lovely gentleman too, now 96 years old - and ex-RN FAA quite apart from the Ecurie Ecosse connection.

Today Hugh Langrishe is 100 years old. For those of you who haven’t seen the video in post #1 by Miura SV, just listen to Hugh’s wonderful ability to communicate on motor racing with that truly wonderful voice of his. This man, who served in the Fleet Air Arm (Royal Navy Airforce) during the war, tells the story of Le Mans 1957 and his Friendship of Ron Flockhart who won the 24 Hours 1956 and 1957. Hugh was the time keeper in 1957 and one gets a hugely interesting perspective of what racing was like tin those far off days. His natural humility and decency is perhaps the most wonderful thing to witness, alongside some great colour film of Jaguars, Ferraris and Maseratis. Happy Birthday Hugh..
