Hi all I have been a member of the forum for years I restored a Ken Huggett 350 Maxton Yamaha some years ago.

Recently I have purchased a TZ 700 Yamaha it has had a monoshock conversion I think in or around 1975/76, with the exhaust modification. It has 36mm Lectron Carbs, during the conversation to buy the bike I was told Jim Wells had owned or ridden the bike in 1976. I have not managed to find any photographs of Jim on any 700 or 750 Yamaha . I have found footage of the FIM brands Hatch 1977 round with Jim and Tony Nash but I think this is a different bike.

I have programmes of meetings in my collection with Jim listed on the 700 Yamaha but no photographs, when I was 14 I sat on Tony Nash 700 Yamaha at Mallory Park and loved it, Jim and Tony was good friends and with the brothers Tony and Trevor Osbourne formed a great friendship. In fact Trevor partnering Jim in endurance racing.

I have a motorcycle weekly from 1976/77, in paddock gossip it says Jim has sold the tz700 and is building a tz750. That's the reason I think the footage from 77 formula 750 round is a different bike.

If anyone can remember anything about Jim and a 700 Yamaha I would love to hear from you.

I raced myself for a number of years and always wanted a 750 Yamaha but just missed out on the chance due to one thing and another, my dads friend sponsored Tony Nash in 1974 to 1975 I have been around the paddock from 1974 to the present day.

Thanks

Mark
