Just been watching MotoGP on BT Numptyvision - I see Suzuki have 'won' their first MotoGP title since KRJR won it 20 years ago - again by default. They only seem to win when all the other factories commit suicide. Like JRKR (sic) I suspect they will not be able to defend it next year.

Where did BT find the bunch of clowns they have commentating on this spectacle? Has Neil Hodgson retrograded from a WSBK champion into a pathetic 'schoolgirl'? We always knew how poor Heuwen was (is) with such stupid comments a 'Divebomb Binder' and thinking Taka Nakagami can win a race.

I only watch it because I'm too old to get a life.

So chaps which of you won a championship one year and was unable to defend it the next (in the same class)?

Cryptic question here (for those a certain age) what colour WERE Barry Sheens underpants?

The answer will be in next weeks 'I'm a Celebrity Fill my Bank Account' magazine.

If you get the opportunity to read 'Continental Circus' by the late Ted Mellors with additional narrative by  G S Davison, do. Not a matter of racking up in your motorhome to a GP between the wars. This was an expedition through Europe by train and occasionally the odd petrol driven four (or in some case 3) wheeler. The trials of getting through borders will become all too familiar to Brits venturing into 'Enemy' territory post Brexit.

Hold on, how did Kenny Roberts, Jr win the 2000 title by default? Most points and most race wins, and had finished second in points the year before.

Because his rivals managed not to win it. It was Rossis' first season in the top class and the others either kept falling of or not finishing, much like this year. 97 points the next year 99 the next, 22 the year after that nuff said.

My opinion of James Witham went up several notches when I read he'd once been offered the job of commentating with Heuwen - and turned it down.

He's 64 and has a young family.  I believe his wife is from Thailand and somewhat younger than him...
