Terrywalkersplace.com is closing down after 15 years.

It has been lying dormant for at least five years.  However, all is not lost for those few who refer to it occasionally. The Australian National Library has a copy in its online resource TROVE,  It can also be found on the Wayback Machine in several of its incarnations.

Thanks for letting us know, Terry. And thanks for your efforts.

But if those far more IT savvy folk on TNF can set this up for direct links to the wayback machine, within this thread then there's hope of finding it for future use.

Stephen

Well, there you go!

And if all else fails, PM me as naturally I have a representative archive of the site on my PC at home. It's 50 megabytes.

I echo Stephens thanks Terry,

My primotipo caper could not be done without wonderful sites like yours- thanks so much. Your clear concise, accurate WA information is great

Terry, I'm really sorry to see your site go.  It's been a great source for me regarding the cars that went to WA, and I appreciate the many hours of effort that must have gone into it.

It's a great shame it will be more difficult for people to find in the future.

Terry, I echo the above comments, particularly the appreciation of people like me whose Western Australian knowledge was inadequate. Without your work I for one would not have had the pleasure of my time with Allan Tomlinson.

Kindest regards, and thanks

The beginnings of Terry's work first came to light in his book, Around the Houses...

That was in 1979, with Terry having spent quite a bit of time on it prior to looking at publication. Just how much time, only Terry would be able to guess, but I'd say it had its true beginnings in the early sixties.

And it causes one to think, "What a great time he must have had approaching all those old racers, looking through their photo albums and learning in detail about their activities!" Especially the pre-war blokes.

Many thanks, Terry. I am just glad I bought a CD Rom when you were over here years back.   As Ray says, such research  is not the work of five minutes.  It is surprising how many folk “over here” find enjoyment in discovering  racing stuff from “down there”
