I remember the car. Tim Morrison did not have it for long . I will have to go back to the years I was Editor of Motor World magazine and see what is left of them as the pine martens that frequent the loft find the bound volumes delicious. ,!

David, apart from Graham’s archives, checking with The Bill Henderson site may bring up further info on its life north of the Border. Bill was a top photographer and race reporter.

I have been working for years building a very similar car but using an Alfa 2600 engine-it is almost done but I am now in my mid seventies!...

Sorry but I've only just come across this. I do a search from time-to-time for 'Omega Jaguar' to find out if there's any news.

Yes it is genuine - I owned it from 1967 to 2010. Built by John Wilks who sold it to John Miles (a close friend) who said I could race it but I'd need to do some work on it. John then decided to go racing seriously so sold it to get cash. In December 1969 I found it in Glasgow and bought it, later droving it home to Essex. Kept it; had it restored; used it a bit. But life had moved on and it was time to sell and it was bought by the collector and Jag specialst in the USA who was selling it at the auction.

First time I drove it was in 1963 or '64 in north Essex on wet small roads. John drove first, me in passenger seat finding it pretty scary. Then it was my turn and I found that it's a brilliant car, wheelspin at 70 in third didn't scare me at all - behind the wheel, it tells you everything it's doing. You can drive it with your finger-tips, your right foot and your bum. It needs to be raced, though, not trundled about.

It isn't listed in the auction results so maybe it didn't sell or it was withdrawn. David - if your friend could now be interested again I'd be happy to help. If he's in the UK I have its UK registration number on retention (6 RPE)
