We have a first sneak peek before the launch. The colours should stay the same but it looks like there will be some changes to the livery.

https://twitter.com/...476075351855105

And yes, it's C41 even though last year's car was called C39. Here's a quick explanation:

The naming of the Alfa Romeo C41 car would appear out of sequence, given the team raced with a C39 in 2020, but it follows a similar design approach to that of power unit supplier Ferrari. As work would have commenced on the intended car for 2021 prior to the decision to delay the new technical regulations by one year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 car looks set to be known as the C40.

The official launch tomorrow at 12:00 CET!

I expect Alfa to make a big jump into the midfield. They had very efficient aero last year that should serve them well at the lower DF tracks now they have a proper engine in. I've read and heard a lot of doom and gloom, but I think they will comfortably leave Haas and Williams behind.

Waiting to see a new Mercedes style nose and judging by the photo, more red livery. If the Ferrari PU is better, we might make a decent jump to midfield.

Let's hope for a drastically improved car, last year way dreadful to watch as a fan...

This is going to make for great F1 trivia questions in about 20 years time.

Expecting them to be much much stronger this year, they were generally a step above Haas/Williams for large chunks of 2020 in my opinion - with the improved Ferrari engine, they should hopefully be able to latch onto the back of the midfield this time.

Unique nose design, reminds me of the 2016 Haas. Very aggressive FW as well, visually.

Edit: really is a great livery

Looks like the sidepod part of the livery is just an invert of the C39, it looks really good though!

The airbox has distinct EJ10 vibes about it.

The livery is definitely an improvement. It just "pops" a lot more, simple but very effective.

I'm just having a chuckle at the whole presentation being so camp, it's like a mini-ESC that thankfully took just twenty minutes. Some random musical and dancing act thrown in for some reason, people speaking english with heavy accents, most of all the male presenter, the drivers lined up like they were statues or perhaps demasked stormtroopers, nothing of substance being said, some guy getting some strange looking trophy... Who needs parodies?

Going back to the nose, it's more curved than last year's (Last year's wasn't really curved to start off with!) and reminds me of the McLaren's. As I said, the livery is very pretty - it's probably my favourite we've seen so far!

The alfa liveries have all been great, I think this is the best so far as the car is a nicer shape too.

I do wish the team overall was a bit more exciting though... If there was a new FDA driver in the team...

I don't like it. :( The engine cover part of the livery is so messy.

I have to say: it just looks fast, and the new livery feels fresh, an overall improvement.

Also, interesting nose, front wing & engine cover fin structure.

Super livery and impressive / aggressive solutions around the nose, FW and sidepods.

Barring no major issues with the engine, I can see them comfortably ahead of Haas and Williams. Maybe they can fight with AlphaTauri this year.

Livery is very good, better than last year.

Not seeing the "fastness" of the car unlike everyone else. Feels like they will be 8th or 9th again.

I've never really gone off the mantra of 'a car is as fast as it looks'.

Last year's Williams looked fast; yet 'nil points'.

People were spot on about the Williams though, in the sense it was a huge improvement compared to the previous car. If not for some drivers mistakes they would have easily gotten a few points here and there.

I am not seeing that improvement about this Alfa in that sense

Wow! That looks amazing, love the livery... probably my favorite looking one so far! That new nose is interesting, looks very aggressive... I also think Alfa will make a step this year. The midfield is going to be so tight.

Very few changes to the sidepods, air inlets (shape or size) and air outlets. Is the 2021 Ferrari as cooling-hungry as the 2020 one? The sidepods (unsercut etc) are relatively obese, like before.
They joined the thin-nose club indeed, and as usual (since 3 seasons) the Alfa design is unique. It shares some features with other cars but it still has Alfa features, and it looks like the cape has been extended to the tip of the nose...
The transition between the new tighter nose and the wide 2020 tub looks smoother than that of the Renault 2020. No big step between them.

Car looks good.

According to the technical director they have had two major development points, first is the floor, that everyone had to change due to the rules&regulations, and then due to the token limitations they decided to focus on the nose section of the car.

According to Vasseur, Alfa focused on the development of the 2021 car until January, but since then the focua has shifted to 2022 car and there will be no new development to the 2021 car, unless some major flaws wiĺl be discovered. Of course already planned 21 developments will be brought to the car during the season.

Finally.  A nice refreshed design...  The side profile looks way tighter packaged and the new nose cone.. pretty dramatic.

Williams need to be really worried... don't think they'll be mixing it up again with Alfa in 2021..

Nice lid as well by Gio.

Like everyone is saying, the livery looks really good and the car looks 'quicker' than last years. At the end of last year Alfa was on par or ahead of Williams and Haas, with the developments to the nose and front wing which really was a weak point on the car hopefully we can start to close the .500sec-.800sec gap we had to AT and Renault in Abu Dhabi.

Biggest gap was due to PU, hopefully Ferrari has made a big step forward as the rumour suggest.

Robert will surely do friday running and I'm afraid he will test 1 crucial day out of 3 during winter as well.

If the sprint races are about to stay for good I think the chances for friday outings are going to get slimmer. In fact it could be a problem for all 3rd/reserve drivers.

F1 should make the 'sprint' races a non championship event and thus enable 3rd/reserve drivers to race... but then, £££ would be a factor so it won't happen. But I agree, Robert is likely to get some running.

That's sad, hopefully not a sign of more teams only launching a car and then abandoning it for 2022 focus.  Going to be a boring year if that is the case of people not trying to better themselves during the year.    F1 for me has always been about constant finding improvements and trying to move up.. not just launch, hold tight and slip back...

Risk hurting someone and Risk huge costs for car repair for no reason???  Just to give backup drivers a chance in the car?     What happens to the chassis of that car if the Non-championship race/driver damages the car.  Do the components count against the WCC driver?  Are they are allotted extra parts which then has huge cost ramifications in an era now that budgets are very restricted.

Fine, run exhibition races if a track promoter is willing to make financial sense of it and the teams agree but during a WCC event, that suggestion is just odd...    Even then, I don't see how putting that even on makes sense.

Tokens are limited, so I think most of the teams have to.
I also read somewhere, that using a windtunnel is limited as well, the worse the team was last season, the more it can develop the car using windtunnel etc (Mercedes less then others and Williams the most) or something like that.

Auch. I remember reading about them extending, but was that just for one year?

Yeah, they extended the deal before this season but only for one year, already among the rumours that it will end after that.

Ooh I like that. It looks genuinely like a new car too which (as long as they’ve got it right) might help them jump back up the grid amongst all the B-specs.
