Japan auto race fixing in the 60s

I stumbled on this subject today while watching a video on Japanese baseball biggest scandal. How did auto racing and baseball gets tied together? Yakuza and gambling. Gambling was illegal in Japan at the time. Yakuza was pumping money in to fix race results. Reportedly about 1 in 4 drivers would take part in it. It would involved a few Japanese baseball players taking part in it. One driver denied claims and took five years to clear his name. I'm trying dig more into this subject but haven't found much outside of baseball's Black Mist Scandal. As for the video:

I'd never heard of Tokio Hirose before. Turns out, he was a motorcycle Speedway rider, the sport being quite popular in Japan, it seems, with betting along horse racing lines. This is what they call an "auto race car" in Japan:
