It is reported that he has died in a traffic accident; very sad after surviving his racing career during such a dangerous era. He was a tough bloke and very good in the rain.

The only ever period of time that bike racing generated any interest with me were the years of the Three Dutch Musketeers within the 500cc: Jack, Wil and Boet.
Without them, my interest was gone and never returned anymore.
And now there's only one of them left.
RIP Boet, thanks for your share in what are the best memories that I have about bike racing.
