This is a great achievement which is certainly worthy of its own thread.

Feel free to congratulate or just comment.

For me - that was a fittingly exciting race to mark the occasion. My nerves are still jangling!

We will be watching the highlights of that race for years to come.... shades of Belgium 2008. And even if one day all his records are beaten, LH will still be the first driver ever to get to 100 wins.

Hopefully, LH (and the rest of the trackside race team) will now relax a bit more and focus on what they need to do to bring home the 8th title for him and for Merc.

Well done Sir Lewis.

It's an incredible achievement, for a while it looked like Schumacher would do it, then when he left I thought nobody would beat it, but here were and and off the back off last season I thought he would have smashed it earlier on,

though i'm a bit sad that anyone has won that many races, because it means things have been too dominant in F1.

I personally hope that nobody else even comes remotely close to this record, because I want a more open sport with wins shared around more than they have been lately.

Well, unless there are 50 races per year

Absolutely incredible achievement.
I remember Prost breaking Sir Jackies record and wondering how high the record could go one day.
I feel privileged to watch an extraordinarily good racing driver be the first to 100, but I doubt the last.

Congratulations Sir Lewis.

I never thought I'd see anyone get to that particular milestone.  The talent and desire to win is immense.  Who knows when he'll stop, and when (not if) will it be beaten?

Congratulations to Lewis and his fans. A phenomenal tally from undoubtedly one of the all time greats. I doubt it will ever be bettered, unless FIA are still not content with this incredible number of races per year.

Amazing statistic. He has pretty much won as many races as Vettel, Alonso and Raikkonen combined.

He may have had the car to get all of these wins but only a driver of his calibre could have won as many races as he has over the past decade. I hope no one ever beats his record as I don't want to see this level of dominance again!

Congratulations on 100 wins. And also, a personal Thank You to him from me for realising a bet i placed on him to win 100 races back in 2012 (its paid for my 2022 holiday and my trip to Autosport International in 2022 should it take place). Bittersweet as well, as a McLaren fan for 25 years, and the team Lewis started his career with, we should have had that one today.

I vividly remember Lewis scoring his 10th win at Hungary in 2009 after a tough start to the season. What a memorable race to secure the 100th!

He's had dominant cars but an interesting fact is that the record for most wins in a season is still held by Vettel and Schumacher. To me this means that he's always had someone to keep him honest as opposed to what Vettel and Schumi had in those seasons. For sure there's no way you get 100 wins without a dominant car, but there's a lot of merit on his part as well. Also one of the few drivers to score at least a win in every single season he's raced in. Remarkable.

You’re one of a kind Lewis. Hamilton set himself up as one of the all time greats quite some time back, the past couple of seasons have all been about padding the statistics. I’ll be interesting as to what his final tally will be!

If anyone is wondering, it’s 21 with McLaren, 79 with Mercedes.

i remember that race as well - who would have thought that s**t box McLaren would have ever had the audacity to win a race that year, but SLH worked wonders with that car that year where as Kovalinen was nowhere

Max Verstappen: - "Hold my beer". :)

Fantastic achievement by Lewis!  100 Grand Prix wins, who'd have thought such a number was even remotely achievable back at the end of 2012.  Truly remarkable!  I hope that number is short lived and see it increase to 101 in Turkey and him leaving the paddock that weekend with Roscoe in one hand and a Dalmatian in the other.

In a sport that is dominated by money, his success is one of the best stories in sports history.

I didn't think Schumachers records would ever get beaten but what's impressed me most is that Lewis did it without having lapdog teamates and he's adapted to lots of era's of rule changes he's been faced with to remain on top.

How many race wins did Alonso, Button, Rosberg have while being Lewis teamates, this number could've been so much bigger by now.

Yeah, not a spoiled brat. Talent, dedication and hard work.

Like CR7 says, it’s not about the money, it’s about the passion.

It's funny he got most of those wins in a car that was mostly a second a lap quicker than the cars the other "kids" were driving.

Still a mammoth achievement.

But if he kept him in surely people would say "those don't count"? :)  I think VB is not quite up there with those other three.

It is a massive achievement.

We've always said that certain things won't be matched, and often proved wrong...but can you really see someone else getting 100 GP wins? I guess it depends on the amount of races per year, if F1 ever goes full NASCAR, who knows.

Amazing. I never thought we'd see anyone trump Schumacher's numbers. And to be honest, I hope we never see someone trump Hamilton's numbers. It's certainly been a perfect storm in terms of the Merc domination plus Hamilton starting his career with a top team.

It's been a great achievement to watch.

I asked because of the first part of your post.

Bottas took an unnecessary engine penalty so he could block Max at an earlier stage of the race. Now what would you call that?

Maybe one season wise it is so, but man this Mercedes part is easily the most dominant in f1 ever. It has gone on for one almost aslong as Msc+Vettel reigns together ;)

But, on the actual matter. What a good race driver and always takes it there even when the going gets tough. Like here in Russia made a mess of everything before the race, yet was really convincing when it mattered. Like so many times before.

Nice to see him actually face the challenge in 2021, makes it so much more interesting to the casual viewer.

Also great to see such a race to round up the win instead of some boring procession or farce like the spa was (I know it was not the drivers fault but still)

What a ride. Hamilton has basically won every type of race imaginable over and over and over. It hasn't always been easy, but damn if he is resilient and opportunistic. Well deserved, and who knows how much more there is to come?

That's slightly better than 99, but looking forward to a potential 101st victory which is an even greater milestone.
