This event over the weekend is aimed at being a mini Goodwood. 50 invited cars on the hill etc.

Sir Jackie Stewart Classic - Motoring Festival Scotland

Similar events in Scotland have never really got off the ground so it will be interesting if this does as it's linked to a long established classic show.

I am entered so will report in due course!

It looks like a good event, and I imagine that Jackie Stewart will have made sure that every aspect is organised and presented impeccably. That is a lovely part of the world, too.

I had a good chat with Sir Jackie about the event yesterday.

His main driving force is that the event is about raising funds for race against dementia, so definitely something worth supporting.

I'm going tomorrow - always a joy to drive up the A68 , especially early morning . Very reasonable ticket too - £15 at my  advanced years.

Yesterday was a pleasant day out in the borders, with an impressive display of Jackie's cars and entertainment on the hill. As Dario and Allan said, "When Jackie phones a car owner up and asks to borrow it for a charity event, no-one is going to say no."

I caught the shot of Jackie leaving the tent in his MS80. Lady Helen is in the tent. Play spot the Stewarts, Dario Franchitti and Allan McNish. Now off for Day 2.

Great idea, and I would be very happy go and support the good cause behind this festival. Hope for a repeat next year, perhaps?  Anyway, where in Scotland does it take place? Lauder is to my years English pronounciation for a certain buck-toothed Austrian multiple World Champion... Lokking forward to a report on this Forum.

It's pronounced to rhyme with 'order' or 'border' rather than with 'louder'. :)

If one was roaming, with Sir Harry, in the gloaming, pronounciation would be no problem...

For a first event it was very good. A lot of rough edges with the organisation with three bodies involved.  Sunday was much better attended than Saturday as there was a big car show run by the Borders VAC. Whether the income was enough for the charity and for the ambitions of the venue remains to be seen.  There needs a lot of work on the course for example and there could have been real problems everywhere had it rained.

it doesn’t rhyme with order or border, but odder or bodder, there’s no r in the middle which would make it quite distinctly different
