All the 72s? All nine, including chassis R2 (the Rindt car)? I was under the impression that CTL wanted no part of the restoration of that car?

But it pictures nine cars! And one of them is shown as 72/2

There are two versions of R5.
So, 9 of the original 8 cars?

Happy to see the two 'South African' 72s in the line up

Isn't 72/6 the individual F1 chassis with the most race victories at 22? ( although none are championship races).
I restored it here in 1985/6

More generally - I had a quick look at this article online and was delighted to see some pics of of the 72 with Team Gunston livery.
Over the years I have gleaned that the Gunston livery is not universally-liked, shall I say, but if you lived though the F1 era in South Africa, the year-end Sprinbok Series, and also the Formula Atlantic era, you would be as nostalgic as I am.
I'm really looking forward to reading the feature.

I've just read Pete Lyons' book on the 72 - and it really is an excellent and beautifully-produced book.
Plenty of enlightening material/photos. Who can remember that John Watson made a cameo appearance in a 72 at the German GP in 1975. Similarly Tony Trimmer's short-lived race with Emmo's 72/5 at the 1971 Brands RoC….despite this Scalextric tooled up a model of his car.
A highly recommended book for any Lotus enthusiast.

I registered my interest with CTL back in July for this event so was very disappointed to receive the following email from them this morning:
Hethel is the natural venue for the Lotus 72s to be gathered together in October. However, presently there are significant traffic issues locally and numerous site restrictions have arisen.
As a result CTL is disappointed to say that the gathering of the 72s will not be open to the public.
It is intended that the gathering will be filmed, hopefully to be live streamed. If not live streamed then we hope the event will be broadcast subsequently.
Every effort has been made to accommodate spectators, but it has proved to be beyond us.
CTL is very sorry about this disappointing outcome.

A report of the event, unsurprisingly focusing on Emerson. Some rather cringey (and hopelessly unbelievable) attempts to equate the 72 to the new electric Emira road car, and a lot of Jenson Button for some reason. Anyone know who drove the other 72s? I see Kubota for one, but don't know who else was there.
Anyway, all good clean fun and wonderful to see the whole fleet on the track together.

BRG, I posted that last week.
Oops, so you did.
Never mind, the question about drivers remains.
