Just been sent this by my old friend - and sometime editor - Simon Taylor. It's extraordinary how so few words from a hero can convey a glimpse of character...

Yes, as much as the race footage (give us more!) was good to see...
It was great to see the gentlemen who were there and lived it 70 years ago.

Our old friend, karting pit and motel roommate David Donner, with his late and legendary Dad Bob at his side, in the family’s former Ferrari Daytona 365GTB/4:

David’s gone on to many wins in the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in several classes, despite that form of racing tragically claiming his big and only brother Bobby in, I believe, 1990.
The Donner family defines passion, bravery, and decency.
This video takes me back to 1974 when Dad and Mom purchased their Euro-spec 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4. The engine noise, the shifts, the acceleration and high-speed runs put me back in the cockpit of ours. Thanks Eric; I watched this with Mom yesterday and recalled my late Dad's absolute love of driving this car at speed and some of their journeys together.
