Best driver: Verstappen, Russell (it was Russell’s call to pit that got him second after all) Alonso, Norris, Stroll all had very good weekends

Worst driver: Ricciardo - hate to see it but he continues to be no where.

Best team: Red Bull I suppose but no one really stood out or had a faultless weekend.

Worst team: Alpha Tauri - Your driver says there’s an issue, perhaps you need to rely on more than what the data is saying. Stupid to send Tsunoda back out.

Best overtake: I don’t remember any that wowed me.

Worst overtake: Perez trying to pass Sainz on the outside and seeming to expect space at the last moment.

Best moment: Bottas bringing out the SC to revive the race.

Worst moment: The battle for the win ending within 100 metres of the restart.

And the race in a sentence: 6/10 - A dull race briefly saved by a late safety car creating a little drama.

As a spectacle, it was the 1992 Royal Rumble.

As a race, it wasn't.

Best driver: Lati.... Max Verstappen
Worst driver: Latifi as per usual
Best team: Red Bull or maybe Merc from a team view (maximize points haul)...
Worst team: Ferrari
Best overtake: VER on HAM
Worst overtake: PER (Make your choice on his attempts)
Best moment: First lap
Worst moment: Wasn't any really...
Best thing about the race: Ever changing and the atmosphere
Worst thing about the race: Quite enjoyable for this F1 fan (not a driver/team fan)

And the race in a sentence: Embrace the chaos!

I thought it was a pretty poor race, only made a bit exciting by Yuki Shenanigans and Battery Voltas

Tense at the beginning to the middle, suspense all gone once the SC came into play.

The British Bulldog came to my mind, but apparently Ric Flair was the winner. Woo!

Best driver: Verstappen, showing once again why he deserves another title!
Worst driver: Latifi
Best team: Red Bull, showing once again why they deserve the title this year!
Worst team: FAILrrari for the Sainz incidents
Best overtake: Russell on Hamilton maybe?
Best moment: Safety car restart
Worst moment: Ferrari's f((k ups:  long pit stop and leaving the wheel gun where they have. COMEDY GOLD!!!
Best thing about the race: Verstappen winning in front of his home crowd!
Worst thing about the race: Just the nature of this track - it's wonderful really, but few oportunities for overtaking!

6/10

Best driver: Nothing that stands out but co-nomination for Verstappen and Russell. The former for keeping his head, being quick, and winning. The latter for the use of his initiative in the pitstop phase.
Worst driver: Ricciardo. Checked out.
Best team: Alpine seemed relatively solid today.
Worst team: Mercedes too reactive and not in sync with their strategy now that they don't have a laughably dominant car. You expect more from such a team which is why I picked them.
Best overtake: Schumacher on Vettel perhaps.
Worst overtake: Magnussen's attempt at the first turn.
Best moment: The noise of the crowd yesterday when Verstappen gained pole position.
Worst moment: Throwing a flare on the track. Not life threatening, but why?
Best thing about the race: Formula 1 motor racing in the Netherlands. Great atmosphere.
Worst thing about the race: The race thread. I'd like to be involved and chat along but there constantly seems to exist a group of supporters who are worryingly prone to conspiracy and personal attacks. I myself failed to be dispassionate about the situation and referred to a poster in a less than complimentary way for describing an accomplished female employee of a team in a derogatory way. I apologise for that. I cannot wait for some F1 people of note to move onto their next project so this particular brand of juvenile behaviour hopefully goes with them. Inevitably the forum will now be full of threads full of circular arguments between the same extremists as always arguing over meaningless differences between words in that lame, passive aggressive way.

And the race in a sentence: Great strategy battle, Monza should be spectacular.

Best driver: Max. Shout out to Alonso and Russel.
Worst driver: Ricciardo.
Best team: Red Bull.
Worst team: Ferrari
Best overtake: Max on Lewis. Not so much the overtake but the decisiveness.
Worst overtake: Perez on Sainz. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Best thing about the race: Max draped in the Dutch flag - with the colors the right way up. The Dutch will understand.
Worst thing about the race: That there are no Monaco like cranes, I think?

And the race in a sentence:[/quote] A Dutch driver with a German attitude wins again.

Best driver: Max, it takes a special sort of person to be this cool and collected with such pressure from a home crowd and making no mistakes. Props to Russel being aware he lost temperature in his tires, the medium wasn't going to work and demanding the soft.
Worst driver: Latifi, Sainz unlucky but also too slow. Not impressed by Vettel ignoring blue flags either
Best team: Red Bull, Hannah deserves a raise.
Worst team: Ferrari,... I feel for you Ferrari fan, I really do
Best overtake: nothing special, Schumacher - Vettel fight maybe
Worst overtake: Perez on Sainz
Best moment: Seeing the strategies unfold and expecting Max some 10 seconds behind the mercs while having fresher faster tires. All set for an exciting end to the race.
Worst moment: Seeing the above situation sabotaged by TR and Yuki. Max had it easy after that.
Best thing about the race: Great opposing strategies keeping it interesting for a long time and seeing Mercedes back at the front. Floor Jansen doing a Metal version of the dutch national anthem Wilhelmus \m/
Worst thing about the race: Ferrari screwing up again and it looks like they are being out developed by Red Bull and Mercedes.

And the race in a sentence:
8/10 race, very interesting strategic race keeping us guessing how the podium will look like until the end. Could have been an absolute classic if we didn't have that virtual safetycar from Yuki.

Best driver: Max, just maximised every stint possible. Russel was really on it today and choose a good strategy for himself (which he should do considering Lewis is not in a title fight). Lewis also drove very well. Alonso ok.
Worst driver: Ricciardo can just better stop. The early stops. What was happening there? I find Perez underwhelming.
Best team: Mercedes today was really wel, but also had a bad moment. RBR.
Worst team: no team stood out.
Best overtake: Max on Lewis after the SC. Not because it is thát difficult. But he takes it, when it’s needed.
Worst overtake: A few in the first corner. Not a lot of room was given.
Best moment: Only flares at the end, when they’re cool.
Worst moment: Mercedes/Lewis did not learn a lot from AD last year. Lewis was a sitting duck again. I’m not sure how Mercedes thought that would work out beneficial.
Best thing about the race: The conspiracy theories from some of the people. I think it’s funny that people need to grasp that kind of theories to justify events. Just take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
Worst thing about the race: Ferrari Sainz pitstop. Both. Sainz just got really shafted today.

And the race in a sentence: quite eventful. 8/10

Courtesy RTL I actually watched a race again. At least a part, as I fell asleep in the middle....

Best driver: VER?
Worst driver: no idea
Best team: RB
Worst team: McL?
Best overtake: VER on HAM, I actually expected HAM to experience sudden understeer
Worst overtake: PER on SAI, MAG on first laps
Best moment: restart after the SC
Worst moment: yawn
Best thing about the race: didn't last too long; listening to Christian Danner again
Worst thing about the race: not exciting enough to keep me awake

And the race in a sentence: Nice to watch a race in full length again for a change, but it kinda confirmed my opinion that the 8 minute summary on youtube is not too bad after all....

Best driver: difficult one but probably Alonso
Worst driver: (s) latifi: waste of sear
Ricciardo: dude is done
Vettel: blue flag incident
Perez: no where in such a dominant car

Worst team: AT for idiotic decisions. Ferrari for their usual mess.

Worst moment: Lewis getting such bad luck again.
Best thing about the race: the fans that aren't flare idiots
Worst thing about the race: flares and the merc cock up at the end.

And the race in a sentence: close but no cigar

I though it was a pretty good race considering the track. DRS was very well calibrated for once, which certainly contributed.

Best driver - Verstappen, even if he didn't have it quite as easy this time. I think ultimately he had the race won whatever happened with the SC.

Worst driver - Daniel Ricciardo, they really might as well send him off to the beach if this is the level they're going to get to the end of the year.

Best team - Red Bull - won a race from pole position on a weekend where they initially looked a bit up against it.

Honourable mention best team - Mercedes. Much better, albeit probably just due to the track characteristics. Don't blame them for the strategy call.

Best overtake - Verstappen on Hamilton, although I bet both of them took a sharp intake of breath before it happened.

Worst overtake - Perez on Sainz, which kind of summed up both of their weekends nicely.

Best moment - the genuine tension of not knowing whether Mercedes or Red Bull were going to come out on top.

Worst moment - Verstappen instantly pouncing on Lewis at the SC restart. I suppose it was inevitably going to happen, but I wanted a little bit more than that!

Best thing about the race - A bit of genuine tension about strategy and Mercedes close enough to remain a factor. That was nice.

Worst thing about the race - Tsunoda's issues opening the door to yet more conspiracy theories. Oh good.

7/10. Not bad. Quite tense and interesting even if it didn't quite play out the way it looked like it might.

It had potential to be exciting with different strategies playing out, but ultimately unravelled with VSC and then SC. The pass for lead was complete anti-climax regardless of who you support.

Ferrari provided yet more of clownery, but someone should tell them it's not funny anymore.

Best thing: merc in contention and ham motivated and on fire. (And I'm not really a merc or ham fan, bit I want max and ham to get a better 2nd chance of fighting for the title)

Worst thing: the conspiracy aftermath

Nah, it would have been interesting without those with the alternative strategies. 1 vs 2 stop.

Many people complained in the race thread when the vsc was deployed, that it denied us from an interesting (strategy) battle.

As at Spa, so at Zandvoort, it's great just watching the cars tackle the circuit lap after lap. Kudos to those who redesigned it. The race itself wasn't improved by Bottas's lump wilting in an unfortunate place, and Tsunoda getting undressed inappropriately, but it was decent entertainment.

Best driver: Max Verstappen
Worst driver: Daniel Ricciardo. Good god man.
Best team: Red Bull
Worst team: Haas for the pitting after 14 laps on medium. Utterly pointless. What are you doing. This isn't drivers, this is your sheer incompetence.
Best overtake: Schumacher on Vettel

Worst overtake: Verstappen on the grumpy old man
Best moment: Erm. Erm.
Worst moment: Verstappen getting by Hamilton so easy. Boooo.
Best thing about the race: Erm.
Worst thing about the race: The most successful driver of all time didn't win so it must be a conspiracy.  ):  ):  ):  ):
And the race in a sentence: Mid race but we haven't had too many of them this year, so shrug.

9/10 for me - only spoilt slightly by the VSC stuff towards the end.

Haven't enjoyed a GP that much in a while. A proper circuit, the cars looked great around there - twinned with the new aero rules, it showed that we can have tight circuits and still have good racing.

It was great to see cars have battles lap after lap, rather than cruising up to the DRS gap and then flying past and into the distance. Totally robs us of battles.

Really enjoyed the strategic battle and the atmosphere (minus the flare shenanigans) was immense. Love coming to Zandvoort.

9/10 for me as well. Really tense, edge of the seat stuff. Easy to look at the data post race and go "yeah a Max win was pretty inevitable", but didn't seem at all obvious as the race was playing out (maybe I'm just terrible at reading races :D ). Great to see different strategy options play out.

Loved the circuit - both the track providing such a unique challenge, and the atmosphere which was incredible.

I would like a poll that has to be filled in several times: before the race, after 25 percent, after 50, after 75… because in races like these (I count AD 21, Miami 22 and Zandvoort 22) after the race most posters seemed to have a crystal ball…in hindsight. It was ‘clear that’ this and ‘clear this’ that… while I, for example, read the race and the pitstops incorrectly about five times… The last half hour, I was not sure who was going to win, neither was the Sky-team, Joylon Palmer, Ben Collins… but after the race a lot of posters claim they were bored… so…

Best driver: Verstappen.
Worst driver: Latifi
Best team: RB
Worst team: Sainz’s garage.
Best overtake: Lap 1
Worst overtake: Can’t think of anything that stood out.
Best moment: SC restart
Worst moment: conspiracies…
Best thing about the race: Verstappen needing all of 25 meters to snatch the lead back after the SC restart. Lmao.
Worst thing about the race: Bottas retirement

I gave it an 8. A solid F1 race. Regulations appear to have made cars that can follow.

Best driver: I'll give this to Max Verstappen again, he seemed in control and even without the VSC I think he was on course to win. Also thought Alonso did well to recover after qualifying 13th.

Worst driver: Daniel Ricciardo had another weekend to forget, it is sad to watch him struggle so much.

Best team: Red Bull for winning the race and making the right tyre calls, although I would have said Mercedes if they'd got both cars on the podium as seemed likely before the safety car.

Worst team: Ferrari for the clown show at Sainz's first pit stop and unsafe release at his final stop, which also cost him three places.

Best overtake: Verstappen's move on Hamilton was decisive and clinical, the type of overtake I'm not sure he'd have completed so cleanly as recently as last season.

Worst overtake: Perez's attempt to pass Sainz was over-optimistic.

Best moment: Verstappen emerging from the pits behind both Mercedes, setting up a potentially superb finish to the race and suggesting a possible first Mercedes win of the year.

Worst moment: The bizarre Tsunoda retirement, especially as he spent over half a minute in the pits before coming back out on track.

Best thing about the race: Mercedes looked like genuine contenders for the race win, it was great to see Hamilton and Verstappen competing for victory for the first time since last season.

Worst thing about the race: Ferrari's underwhelming race pace leaves Verstappen looking unassailable in the championship.

And the race in a sentence: Verstappen makes it four in a row on home soil but Mercedes give him a good run for his money.

I decided to give this race 8/10, I think the new cars look exciting to watch at Zandvoort (especially at turn 3), overtaking seemed more feasible than last year and I like that the circuit brings something unique to the modern calendar. A higher rating would have been possible if not for the VSC and safety car, which slightly spoiled the battle between Verstappen and the Mercedes drivers that seemed to be developing nicely towards the end of the race.

I also wanted a pre-race poll about how people felt about DRS, following, VSCs, SCs, and Latifi  .  To see how opinions would change depending on the events of the race.

We are fortunate that Verstappen made his move on the last restart without DRS as otherwise it would have meant another round of DRS is bad
