Britain gets coverage of most of the european races at about 1;00pm, so i feel really sorry for all you guys living in other time zones!
I'm still gutted though, because, with it being the first race of the season, i'm gonna watch it live-i dunno, it just seems better that way- so i have to get up at like 1;15am and 2;15am, to watch live qualifying and the race live- you can imagine how i'm gonna look come monday morning then!!
How do you guy's cope when the races are in Europe?

Hi 614avid, the race is on the night between Saturday and Sunday. It is not so bad, you will have whole Sunday to recover :-)

Well you don't have to get up so early. Go to sleep after the race. :)

It works most of the times with me. I almost never fall asleep watching television. It only happened when I wanted to watch Suzuka two years ago. I fell asleep watching some stupid commercials, overslept start and woke up just when MS went out and I'm MS fan.

living in Australia and now NZ, apart from the Aussie, Japan and Malaysian GP I have to get up 12.00 or 1-2.am every second Monday morning,......for basically the whole season...I don't have any pity for you having to do it for one race!!

BTW - you feel it more on the Tuesday

614David,

Cope? Getting up early is a way of life. I do it because it is required. I do it because I love F1. I do it because my kids wake me up before 6:30am every day, so when the European races and qualifying are on @ 7:00 or 8:00, I've already had breakfast and my morning java. A great start to the day!

I think we've got it perfect here in the US. The races on the Pacific rim are primetime on Sat night. The N&S American races are Sun afternoon. And all the European races are around 7am. (these are Speedvision times)

7am is a little early to get up on a Sunday, but it's not too bad, and it kicks off the day great. Plus, by the time it's over, the FOX broadcast is starting (if I want to watch again) and then there's usually a NASCAR race around 1 and CART around 4. If all three series are racing on the same weekend, you're talking about 12 hours of solid racing. It drives my wife nuts, but I love it!

Im from australia and it sucks like you wouldnt believe!!!!! I remember a few years ago i waited up to watch the Britsh GP till about 12 and then they decided to put on wimbledon instead!!! I was ****ing pissed but i waited 2 hours untill the race started and then ended up getting to bed at 5 and got up for work at 6:30!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the sort of **** you have to put up with!!! The worst races for us are the ones in South america because they always put them on at like 2am. I can live with the european races because they usually start at about 10:45 so at least your in bed by 1am and can get a good solid 5 hours rest.

i'm from new zealand and i love getting up at midnight for the races

theres no distractions , none of those bloody pain in the arse sun/glare on the tv screens cos its dark out side.

614 , you say your just whinging ......

i wonder where that came from?

could the whinging be something to do with you being a dc fan..............he whinges alot about the oversteer/understeer/traffic.........

Thanks tom, very friendly!!
David doesn't whinge, he states facts, and don't you mock it boy, 'cos i read what you wrote about him in the 'Irvine slams DC' thread( I refuse on principle to write Cubehead!!). While i accept that you were probably just trying to highlght what an arse Irvine is, you still defended David!!;)

Prime time this Fri and SAt. During the year, Euro races are at 7AM, and it usually gets my two sons and me in the mood for our kart racing later in the day! Must admit, nothing like watching it live, except I wish I could zap the adds like when it's on the VCR!

Got to be live!
It's not an early morning it's a late night!
Get the tinnines in and book monday off so you can re-adjust to GMT.
Last race I taped because I couln't see it live live was Spa 98. I'd promised I'd be at the Notting Hill Carnival with some good friends. I had a blinding time, but how gutted was I, when after the pile up, clear up and re start the tape ran out 15 mins before the end. Nooooo!
