Frosties (Ferrari)

They're great! And you'd have had to be living on the moon for the last 50 years not to know that. Don't on the face of it look all that different to rivals, but a definite sparkle is there. Fans say they bring out the tiger in you, and they do get people purring. Warning: can be a bit frosty.

Weetabix (BMW Sauber)

A bigger unit than most and have some decent ingredients but appear not to have as much longevity as you'd like. Despite the big-name reputation expect them to start off looking good but after a while they lose their shape to become a less-than-thrilling soggy prospect.

Rice Krispies (Honda)

Makes a surprising amount of noise, snapping and crackling before title ambitions go pop. Looks the part and will seem a solid unit first time out, but history shows that any robustness won't last long and the inevitable softening will leave you feeling not a little dismayed.

Sugar Puffs (Renault)

Notable ensemble spearheaded by a loveable (if loud, hairy and somewhat orange) monster. It is said they are one of the sweeter additions to the market; the classic formula on show this year will have purists salivating - and a sugar rush will surely follow.

Bran Flakes (Williams)

Plain and sadly rather bland fare that used to go down well when boring Brummies with 'taches were hasty, hasty, very very hasty. But now younger, snazzier and, dare we say it, less-flakey rivals have overtaken them. Interesting times.

Shredded Wheat (Red Bull)

Famous enough name but not one you'd imagine has a particularly sizeable following beyond a few blunt-speaking, swaggering macho men who talk up its qualities. Actually for all the chat you wonder if it's rather a bland offering. Look out for its younger brother (Shreddies) further down the shelf.

Alpen (Toyota)

It's monstrously expensive all right and doubtless made from the finest quality products but despite constant tinkering and a belief that it will do good its proudest boast remains an ability to go down the lavatory regularly.

Shreddies (Toro Rosso)

Younger, squarer brother of a bigger beast. Neat enough, but has to get by on old designs which may have been better if "knitted by nanas", though we couldn't possibly comment.

Special K with red berries (Force India)

A new name but with notably similar content to its predecessor. The change has already born fruit. The moniker talks up the brand and you have to say it all feels a bit richer and more exciting - maybe the change is a good thing.

Ready Brek (Mclaren)

Nicely packaged British institution that blows hot and cold. At its best there's a smooth, rich consistency, though last year when things were stirred up and the heat was on everyone was left glowing (with embarrassment). Will be a favourite in British households for a while yet.

Unfortunately there was no entry for Super Aguri but please feel free to contribute :)

I was from their season preview. The Ready Brek photo looked like fake vomit.

Cheerios (Super Aguri)

Is the Rice Krispies with a hole with less snapping and crackling but still has the odd pop or two. Started off as Honey Nut Cheerios in its first year followed by Yogurt Burst Cheerios last year, however over the winter was known as Frosted Cheerios due to lack of action. Now days known as MultiGrain Cheerios with the news of new owners.

The Alpen one is my favourite, it is a little cruel though. Lets hope Trulli can debunk of few of the perceptions about them........
