[Giraffe]

As a huge fan of Chevron, in all it's guises but especially in Derek Bennett's days, I've been trying to pin down exactly where the old factory stood on Chorley Old Road in Bolton.
I know it was in Haslam's Mill, but have only been able to track down Haslam House, but nobody locally seems to know. God help us, it wasn't where Morrison's Supermarket now stand's was it?
There must be some old Chevron guys out there who can orientate me, surely, so I can take some pic's for my Chevron album???

Thankyou Tim! It would appear that Haslam House is the building where Chevron resided, as the architecture fits!
Nortex Mill, just down the road is a whopping old joint. However, the current residents and neighbours of Haslam House have never heard of Chevron! It needs a blue plaque!!!

The problem with TNF is that as a relative latecomer, most topics have been covered, so you must go with the flow! However, I do find it sad that whilst we all celebrate Chevron from time to time, nobody in the building, or vicinity have a clue about them. Oddly, lot's of local contemporary businesses never knew of them either! Infact, lot's of people who lived in the vicinity, or Bolton at large never had in inkling! In the greater scheme of things, motorsport is a mere speck! Gulp!

Exactly what I got; a bathroom showroom and an Asian taxi company! (The animal refuge appears to have left!!!)

It is some years now since curiosity got the better of me and I risked venturing over the border to Chorley Old Road and found what was once a Hallowed place had become a wine warehouse cum off licence, I spoke with the owner and he allowed mw to venture around ( my purchase of Cote du Rhone seemed to help) and he imformed me when he moved in he was annoyed and appalled of what Chevron had left from (his words not mind) bits of cars,moulds,photos etc., to which he threw everything in a skip, I could have crowned him with my recently purchased plonk!

Since then I have not a clue what lies there now probably a new Tesco or simular.
