This again proves the quantum multi-worlds theory, and somehow I've become trapped in a strange striation.

WTF?

I suppose that if Loeb is a dangerous role model, than means kids are going to stop shaving now and we'll have 10 year olds with beards driving their turbo rally cars into trees? WTF?

I mean, WTF????

I used to say "I watch F1 because it's the only sane thing left on the planet", but alas, that's no longer the case. There is nothing sane in the world today.

/ I blame the Large Hadron Collider
// I *think* I'm joking; but 10 years ago if you told me the head of the FIA would be on Youtube being spanked, having beards would be a bad influence on kids (who, I think, *can't grow beards*?), the first F1 race I'd go to would only feature 6 cars at the start and the rules would be changed so that you'd have to use a set of "white wall" tires during the race... I'd think "that wouldn't even make it in a bad sci-fi movie"...

What do you think about this guys or perhaps, more importantly girls?

Loeb is bloody good-looking, and I think I'm more qualified to have an opinion on this than most - being a girl n' all... ;)

It is a load of uppity bollocks I total agree. Imagine if W G Grace was an F1 driver !! If I was Loeb now I would purposely buy some hair laquer and make it all stick right up in the air.

Nothing extraordinary, just a couple of Max's pussies are being worried about the quality of racing.

The kids probably would copy him in being scruffy but so what, that's their problem not Sebastiens.

this should come as no surprise, anyone remember the FIA ticking off then reigning World Champion Jacques Villeneuve for his unshaven appearance? Typical bullshit with Loeb.

I assume you are referring to official complaints by FIA, NOT private emails regarding WRC driver(s)?

Give me an access to Mike Helton´s mailbox and we´ll talk

The fact is, if you see NASCAR as last save haven for "be yourself" real racers who dress like they want, say what they want and drink what they want...you´re living in la-la land. I repeat: F1 is bad, NASCAR is worse. You really think Juan Pablo Montoya spends his days chewing delicious Juicy Fruit gum and thinking about how great fuel he gets from Texaco-Havoline? And it gets worse when we talk about new boys. Tony, Dale and Juan can have more liberties than most, as they happen to be big names in NASCAR. Youngsters look like American boys from next door, talk like American boys from next door, and always remember to turn the soft drink bottle so that people can see the etiquette.

Tony Stewart docked points for saying "bullshit". Critisized for talking about having few beers (while driving cars taped full of beer ads). Think about it. Last year Räikkönen would have lost the WDC if F1 was like that. I´d say that is far worse than two FIA officials exchanging their personal opinions via email.

I'm a bloke and I can tell you Loeb is not good looking. To effeminate.

Girls nowadays go for all the wrong types of men. Real men are Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood.

So there.

Anyhow here is hairy Jenson Button wearing his seatbelt.

68 posts before someone mentioned JV! Personally, I always thought his non-corporate attitude was extremely refreshing. As was Hunt's.

Hehe, I guess you could say it's a testament to the FIA's overall competence and ability to "read the room" that in their admirable effort to raise the aesthetic standards of the racing/rallying scene, they've somehow managed to zone in on the one guy that actually looks good.

James Hunt had the incredible ability to have a lit fag in his mouth even before he got his helmet off.

While they're at it, they should do something about Alonso, he always looks constipated.

So Seb is a disgrace to "real" men is he? How would they know? What a pair of "sesselfurzers" these two are. laughable is the only way to describe them.

NB. A sesselfurzer is a German expression for someone who has never done a thing in their lives, but feels qualified to give advice on everything. Literally translated, an armchair farter. Great expression I think.

It is the same kind of people that run most of the high profile sports. Look the IOK and FIFA for instance. Very inbreed organizations and I doubt you need to search very hard to find fascist connections.

You sir, are my hero. Up til now I had thought that schadenfreude was the single greatest contribution to my lexicon from a germanic language. I've heard of an armchair quarterback, a back seat driver, but this, this is pure genius.

Oh yes, just a private joke between two delegates that was copied to the TV rights holders who reacted to it. No hint of it being a joke at the time......

"I watched the WRC Mexico highlights last night and I have to voice my opinion on the poor appearance of Sebastien Loeb on WRC-TV", Thatthi wrote in his mail to Chandler.
"He was unshaven, scruffy looking and with unkempt hair!! It is wrong.....when the FIA gives him global TV coverage to millions of viewers and to many children worldwide he is a hero and role model […………………..]
"I know there is a level of personal freedom one is allowed but I feel he is taking this too far and someone should talk to him or his team about this," ……
Chandler:
"Yes I watched the same as you did (...) Unfortunately it is not a problem that is unique to our sport as the same happens in football and other "male" sports……
Of course these persons are an insult to real males", he added. "My only solution is that we suggest to ISC that the camera does not cover them close up."
Chandler copied his reply to ISC managing director Simon Long, who offered a different view.
"I do feel that it is precisely Sebastien's "ruggedly good-looking" appearance which has helped endear him to so many new and young fans both in France and around the world", Long wrote back to Chandler.

Probably it was all written with such fine and delicate degree of sarcasm that we common racing fans can't understand? Maybe it is a stylish internal FIA joke?

But... no, these quotes look rather like an exchange between two trolls/bashers on this BB. :D
