I'll be attending summer school in Cambridge, MA for eight weeks and would be grateful if anyone could recommend book stores with a good automotive section in Boston and the surrounding area. I see that Bentley Publishing has a store in Cambridge but didn't find much else on the web.

I used to buy lots of stuff at http://www.coastal181.com/ in Norwood (MA), until they made a ROYAL MESS of one of my purchases. It was a REALLY MAJOR ROYAL MESS, so I stopped buying there despite having been very satisfied with their service before. It's all got to do with the mailing business, so you won't have to fear anything if you go visit their shop.;)

Find the time and way to go to New York and go to the Strand Book Store.

I want to mention you might want to attend some of the "lawn events" at the Lars Anderson museum in Brookline www.mot.org
There might be some book vendors attending.
Also, if you can stretch your visit until Labor Day the Fall Festival at Lime Rock Race Park has many vendors with new and used books on display.

coastal181 was used by me on serveral times with great luck. They have a wide selection of auto books both in racing and around auto-related topics. I live in near Boston, and use their services often. Borders on Boyston street has Motor Sport and other auto mags. Out of Town News in Harvard Square has Auto Sport and Euro mags.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Sounds like there's plenty of places to check out

Mike --
I can see that the Coastal 181 web site is rather confusing -- the front page indeed says to visit them in Norwood, but that's a show they will be at. Their contact page lists their actual address, but you have to drill down a bit to find it.

My mistake, sorry... it's been a couple years since I last ordered there, just remembered they were in Massachusetts!
