Hell naw. This has got to be the most overrated course ever. Take away the corkscrew and what have you got? A series of boring mid speed corners. No imagination at all.

The corkscrew is Laguna Seca. After that it is just a series of tight corenrs like the one leading onto the starting striaght and the one ending it.
The Nordshleif was a real racers circuit.

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Montreal
St. Jovite/Mount Tremblant Quebec
Mosport, Ontario.
Of the three -- St. Jovite was my favorite. Glad to hear that ALMs may be there next year. Mosport was next. Too bad these tracks are no longer used for F1 -- but I undertand the rationale.

Laguna Seca is built around the Cork Screw. And for series of "Mid speed corners", they are pretty fast~~ (Faster than Monaco, certainly.)
I had a chance to drive Porsche 911 GTS (the production version of GT2 class racing car...courtesy of my die-hard Porsche-fan friend) in Laguna Seca a couple of month ago.
Full rev start into #1 corner and tight turn upto #4 corners. And then full throttle, flat down on gas, and uphill straight...You can't see the approaching corner...and then there it is: the Cork Screw.
When I was skimming across the Cork, I felt the gravity changing in the car. It was worse than roller coaster.
But anyways, that's why I think Laguna Seca is one of the best track in the world.

It's a fun track, but nothing I don't think most people would say it's anything like Susuka, Spa, or the Nordschleife.
It sure is a beautiful track though.

Mmm...run-off area at the corkscrew - non-existant...so not likely, but even if they did there still wouldn't be any overtaking!
