Found this only now ...
This was the Inauguration of the Interlagos tarck, at least as it was originally planned!
Apparently due to bad weather, and /or trouble with the track surface, it was cancelled. The first race took place indeed only in May 1940.
Boniver, you have got the full grid of a race that never took place ;)
