I think you're right. Apparently it was full of "The Complete Collection of Ron Dennis 'Motivational' Speeches, 1980-2008".Originally posted by Slartibartfast

Easily confused ;) . Both have a massive ego. Both have the "reds" as their opposition. Both are prone to saying bizarre things.Originally posted by marchi-91
Thought it was Margret Thatcher.
Will Martin Whitmarsh be Ron's Geoffrey Howe I wonder...

It's a newsworthy event affecting the man leading the world championship.
It's far more valuable than the endless 'who is better: alonso v hamilton', 'who are the greatest five drivers' rubbish, or for that matter, one line contributions slagging off the subject of a thread.

Yeah, that's quite amazing isn't it. That kind of protection can't be cheap.
Still, it's only a report and those are often wide of the mark.
The Mirror last year had a story about Lewis going to the movies with a 'mystery girl.'
It splashed a photo of Lewis, the girl, and two other guys.
It described the girl as the secret love, one of the guys as a 'close friend' of Lewis, and the other as a bodyguard.
Turns out the girl was married to one of the guys, and the other was just a mate, albeit a burly one.

In all seriousness, losing your music collection is a massive pain in the arse, especially for someone like Lewis who is busy all the time.

Which is why you should always have it backed up on your computer ;)

Seriously. To lose a WDC is a bigger pain and he was partying the same night he chocked it last year. I bet his fans are much more affected than him about the "terrible" lost of a couple of songs.Originally posted by potmotr

P.S.: Have you ever heard about the word "back up copy"?

Would we not have heard more about it if his laptop got taken as well? as surely his laptop would hold sensitive team data?

Yes, I'd be fascinated to know what was on an F1 driver's laptop.

I think the "busy all the time" includes 'not able to sync it back to a new device' :-P

Really, if you're going to try and get in a dig about 2007, at least use the right word ;)
Chocked: To fit with or secure by a chock: The plane's wheels were chocked and chained down.

I didn't see chocks beneath his wheels but that may have explained his car stopping suddenly in the early laps...

'chocked': How Lewis would have found his car if this robbery had happened in Liverpool.

Haha ;)
There's a road through one of the Cwm valleys in South Wales with a set of traffic lights - people I've worked with in the past have been told specifically NOT to stop at them even if they're red, or you're liable to get mugged and your wheels whisked away rather quickly

Cwm means valley in Welsh, that's sort of like saying Rio Grande river or ATM Machine.
All those things bother the **** out of me. Not enough to steal from a car at a red light, but I can't blame them.

I never quite understood that. You'd figure ONE person on the team would have stood up and said, 'heh, maybe this won't go over well.' Guess not. : As for the thread, it sucks getting stuff replaced. It doesn't matter who you are.

Yeah, I know. Airline lost my bag on a short vacation trip to New York City. Besides have to remember and itemize everything in the bag for reimbursement I had to spend time out of my vacation shopping in NYC to get basics like razor, toothbrush, clothing etc.
I don't put expensive electronics (like cameras) in my checked bags. It's hard to deal with oppotunistic thieves like that who just wait for the fleeting opportunity to grab and run.
