To everyone out there in Atlas F1 BB land:

I'm looking for photos of the 1963 International Paris Auto Show, any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, I know about Cobrabob's thread, he's looking for the same pictures. In fact it's Cobrabob's question, he has been looking for the answer for almost 30 years, so I posted the more direct approach to both are inquires. Some body out there must have some pictures of the 1963 Paris Show.

I'm leaving town for a week on Monday, but I think I can find (in my magazine library or in my Cobra books) reports and photos of that show. Possible sources include Road & Track, Automobile Year, etc. Have you checked with A.C.'s PR department for photos? Perhaps LAT or some British publications could help, too.

Thanks Frank, I think Raceannouncer2003 might cover the Road and Track aspect. My magazine collection is rather sparse. Cobrabob has been in contact with both Ned S. and Trevor L. and has come up with a dead end so far. I would have thought that Trevor would have had some Show photos but he doesn't have any. I'll contact LAT Digital and see if they have any leads for photos. The current AC PR department doesn't seem to be able to provide any info on the pair of Cobras, so maybe I'll try a different direction with them. Any suggestions on Euro mags?

No photos of AC Cobras in the Road & Track report on the 1963 Paris Automobile Show, and no mention of them in the text of the article either (both by Henry Manney III).

cobrabob here. I asked Henry Manney about the Show in the early '80's, when he was stiill with us. Said he had boxes of photos but no time to go through them due to magazine deadlines. I actually met him once in Newport Beach, when R&T was based there. Great guy. Would have been great to go through those boxes of photos, a treasure trove I'll bet. I wonder who has them now? Anyway, anybody out there who has photos or remembrances of that show or the cars Chardonnet brought, I would be most appreciative. I'd like to get this piece of history resolved. Thanks!

I looked at some of my old books and magazines and found nothing about Cobras at the '63 Paris Show.

I found it interesting that there was also no mention of Cobras at the '63 London Show, which took place two weeks later. Not to say that there were no Cobras present, they just weren't mentioned in the show coverage in the US magazines.
