Rosberg also benefited but he also made a brilliant drive, minimizing the hit of that 10 sec. stop and go penalty to a minimum. Almost reminded me of his dad back in the day. This is his best drive so far, and his best since Melbourne. Well done!
Hamilton, had the pace, but the soft tires ultimately took some of his pace away in the last stint, but still did a good job for damage control.
Glock another 4th place. Good joob.
Raikkonen, 2 mistakes in 3 races, that's really uncommon for him. Massa got screwed by the pits, All-together poss poor day for them.

I thought Piquet took the No2 role to new extremes ;)
Have you seen the face of Lewis when he had to congratulate Fernando?

Great drive for Rosberg.
Hamilton was set for third before the SC, Raikkonen was gaining on him. But third with Massa not scoring points becomes a huge result, not to mention the team leading the WCC.

From a racing PoV there might not be much difference. If drivers put it in wall at valencia it might of been just as good.

You can be both, they're not mutually exclusive.

You apparently don't understand a joke!
Good driving and a clever strategy got Alonso to the front.
But you can't deny Massa was unlucky.

Also, Rosberg was very impressive. He had genuine pace today, fully deserved.

Rosberg made the most of having to pit before the pit lane opened by setting a great pace after the safety car. Good strategy knowing they would be penalised, somewhat helped by the Stewards slowness in applying the penalty, but otherwise a strong drive.
Hamilton played it safe. Better than he expected (point gain wise), I'm sure, but no heroics. Maybe he's learnt from last year.
Massa had great early pace and the pitlane problem was not initially his mistake - but from then a terrible race. And I wonder if a certain McLaren driver would have received a penalty for pulling back on the racing line in front of Sutil. I need to see a replay, but my initial thought was that Sutil took an evasive line to avoid hitting Massa, straight to the barrier.
Kimi has probably thrown any chance of the WDC away by hitting that kerb. If he'sd collected some useful points, he could probably legitimately still have raced Massa for another race. Not his year....

Rosberg in particular - those laps after the safety car to pull out the gap were simply stunning!
What a mess from Ferrari - they really seem to be missing Nigel Stepney marshalling that pit crew.
Overall I think the mess of the pits and safety car saved what would have been a repeat of the terminally dull Valencia Take Trulli out of the race and there was only a couple of overtaking moves - Hamilton on Coulthard (when balked by Rosberg) and Kubica on Fisichella.
Not impressed with the whole night race gimmick - looks nice, but the costs far outweigh the benefits imo.
Give me Spa or Suzuka in the daytime anytime thanks.

I'm still bitter over his behavior over at McLaren . I do agree though that Alonso is definately one of the top, if not the top driver in the field this year. It's amazing what he's been able to do with that POS Renault.Originally posted by Bloggsworth

Agreed, it really sickens me to see drivers having to pick up stop&go-penalties because they simply can't stretch it any longer fuel-wise. However, I'd say Nico did a damn nice job regardless..

Ferrari - FIA need to have a serious chat with them about their pit procedures and that light system.

Again SC screws up a race, though. Kudos to Alonso and Kekinho for making it work (and you won't see me criticizing a Williams on the podium), but there MUST be a fairer way. That would probably have been Massa's race had it not been for a hurried stop with the gap whittled down. But he hardly distinguished himself thereafter.
Incidentally, for the conspiracy theorists, they delayed the Rosberg penalty until he had just enough time to serve it and emerge in front of Hamilton.
And get rid of the points system. Hamilton probably cruised those past few laps for a safe third rather than risking all for second. I hope all you who gloated at his retirement at China when he went for the race win rather than the title win are happy, it's people like you who are ruining racing.
Coulthard 7th...his last points ever? And keep Barrichello away from guns, otherwise there's gonna be a massacre in Singapore.

Really? We destroy racing?
Ok, that must be the reason. Lewis reading AtlasF1 and decides, wtf, I won't go racing anymore, those guys are just right. Let's settle for safe points.

I'm actually not that impressed with Rosberg's second place. Sure, I'm happy for him and Williams, but his job was made so much easier with the huge delay in handing out his penalty. Though it has to be said; he too showed great race-pace if more inconsistent than Alonso.
Wise drive from Hamilton. Well done.
Another thumbs-up GP-weekend from Glock. He's impressive. Always, on every single lap has he been faster than Trulli here.
Räikkönen's race-pace once into the rythm in the first stint was truly impressive. ....but then he crashed.
Massa performed well, very well in qualifying and in stretching out a good lead, but he's not very composed when a mishap strikes him.
Shame about DC's pitstop hick-up, but he was awfully slow on his out-lap so he lost a couple of positions on his own too. But I'm glad to see him score points. Nothing between him and Webber for race-pace today I think.

If you were very fast it was actually possible to pass - and the trickier circuit made for more mistakes. Singapore was much better than I thought beforehand and made for a good race. It's not Spa but then again nothing is. Valencia is the worst track of the season so far.
With a few minor modifications Singapore can be a highly anticipated race.

Well, in that case, Kimi was pretty much as unlucky. He had to queue up behind and watch that whole mess, and then proceed to having his own stop.. two races ruined in an instant.
