According to some sources, there was a Paris-Spa road race in 1899. I only know of it because a lady driver by the name of "Madame Labrousse" apparently came fifth in the three-seater class.
However, when I check my trusted list of web sources about Edwardian racing, there is no mention of this event having taken place. I also find the classification of cars according to how many seats they have a little odd, when almost all contemporary classifications were by number of wheels, or weight.
Can anyone enlighten me, please? Does anyone have any documentation of this race in a book, for example? Who else competed in the race and who won?
It has occurred to me that some of the information I have read about it is incorrect.

I believe we have discussed this one a few years ago, before you joined, but I'm not sure if there was that much info available. Car classification by number of seats was the way it was done in the very early years.
