Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere - unable to find it on the search.

H&H Auctions have Patsy Burt's famous McLaren M3A hillclimb/sprint car currently slated for their 26th November Buxton sale.
In their MOTOR SPORT advert this month the 'blurb' says " The only known survivor of three built"
Now I seem to recall the car was unique, being in effect a single seater version of the Group 7 M1A, built at Patsy's request.
So "three cars built..." ? Is this correct ?

I have a feeling there may have been one in Switzerland in period. The name Harry Zweifel comes to mind, but this might just be a disconnected thought. I seem to have a lot of those nowadays.......

The MGM car is the one used during the filming of 'Grand Prix'?

Thanks for the info chaps.
In an interview with Patsy, quite a number of years ago, Ron Dennis was said to be very keen on aquiring the car and made offers - but Patsy would not sell.
Well Ron, now's your chance!

I understand that further offers were made recently but the family were advised to go to auction.

Patsy's Cooper-Climax was sold recently so maybe the other race cars from the collection will also be making their way onto the market?

Here painted as a 'Yamura' at Spa where Phil Hill drove it; also appeared at the movie version of the start at Monza driven by Scarfiotti.
