Tony Dodgins in this weeks journal mentioned a couple of funny songs that had been sung in a Tokyo Karaoke bar:

Killing time between Fuji and Shanghai, I'm sad to have to report that you can find yourself in a Tokyo karaoke bar. One of the photographers chose Abba's Fernando. "Can you hear the boos, Fernando?" he began. "There was someone in the wall that night, it wasn't right, Fernando..." etcetera. That got a good few titters, as did the Jenson Button song, "Help me Honda, help help me Honda," an obvious reworking of the Beach Boys classic.

To this I'll add Queens "Don't stop me now" for Lewis's first corner at Fuji and the Beatles/George Harrison's "All things Must Pass" for Seb Bourdais.

Come on, get the juices flowing boys and girls. Lets see if your bitter rivalries are creative as well as destructive.

Not a driver, I know, but how about Madonna's Hanky panky for Max?

Like hanky panky [hanky panky],
Nothing like a good spanky [good spanky].
Dont take out your handkerchiefs,
I dont wanna cry, I just wanna hanky panky guy.

Adrian Sutil might be singing an old Janis Joplin hit:

Vijay won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz.
My friends all drive Ferrari's, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my season, no help from my friends.
So Vijay won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz

On a more positive if less funny note, I've heard Hamilton refer to 'Rise Above It' from the soundtrack of the 1993 movie Cool Runnings. Good stuff:

Alonso - Foo Fighters The Pretender

"What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays
You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender? "

I always thought Systems of a Down's song Lonely Day was perfect for Alonso's 2007 season.

Same here! Everytime I listen to the song....

To Ferrari/McLaren Alonso sings:
"I'm the voice inside your head, you refuse to hear.
I'm the face that you have to face, mirrorin' your stare...
I'm what's left, I'm what's right, I'm the enemy
I'm the hand that'll take you down,
bring you to your knees!
So who are you? Yeah, who are you?
Yeah who are you?!"
:stoned:

Anyway, great thread...something positive and lighthearted for once!

Might come back for other drivers when I get more time.

actually alonso and dennis have a proper song!!! they parody one spanish famous couple of singers who sing normally pretending they are upset each other like showing marriage problems and daily arguments, in this song in concrete they already broke up and the man is asking why, hilarious

http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=SjBu_wsbLjs

a literal translation to make it a bit easier

who's it?

it's me

what are you looking for here?

just you

it's too late now

why

coz it's me now who wants to be without you

whereupon go away, forget my face my eyes and turn around

I never could understand you.....
