Enjoy (or not!). ;)

Seems like he's already identified the next Lewis, and it seems like the comments have been carefully chosen.

His sharp, often humorous analysis of team’s race strategies and the goings on in the pit lane quickly became a feature of ITV’s coverage.

How did Alonso do that? Is the site hacked by 'the usual suspects' already?

I think this wasn't mentioned in one of his ITV columns this week? I guess he realises that he'll have a lot of time on his hands next year so is keeping himself busy?

Taking out the Amazon link to Noige's autobiography might be good idea, given that there are currently 94 copies for sale, starting at 1p!

Do you think they will only put up the replys that are complimentary? So far there are only 2, who's going to be the first to get a "Your a cock" one up there?

Isn't it MB & MB that have identified him? Don't try giving him any credit he doesnt deserve.

he writes better than he commentates, i suppose - although that's probably only because you can't hear that reedy voice.

on a brighter note, this thread has reminded me to check sniffpetrol. thanks!

Oh god, he called his second son Emerson: Enzo Allen and Emerson Allen.

This man laughed at Hakkinen for using Hugo.

The teen Will Stevens is managed by Brundle and Blundell. Clearly Allen respects Brundle's judgement with drivers. If only the respect were reciprocated...

After Ralf Schumacher called his son David, he said something about how David was a strange name for a German to call his son. At least David isn't going to be bullied at school. Enzo and Emerson are going to have the **** kicked out of them, it's practically guaranteed.

Of course he can, but he criticised others choice of names therefore I'd say he is fair game for the same.

Perhaps his sons will go to a school which is more cosmopolitan, where many of kids maybe from different backgrounds. They may even tolerate his son’s ‘foreign’ sounding names… Huh?

Welcome to the new millennia where not everyone must have an Anglo Saxon name to fit in.

Pfft. Relax a little, a man laughing at 'Hugo' and 'David' chooses to give his sons much odder names.

Does this shirtiness indicate you have a very funny forename? :p

Me thinks this is the website of a man trying to demonstrate his abilities

Perhaps this is because he doesn't have a job from 12 days time

Thus, maybe, please, I hope to god.... he's not being picked up by the BBC.

I'm going to name my kids after my favorite things. Bacon and Widescreen.

The foreign first name and English surname combination doesn't seem to work at all. Like Giancarlo Smith.

To be fair to The Cock, I think he's a far better writer and reporter than he is a main commentator.

He also seems to have toned down his utter cringe making Cockishness (ie: Hungary 2006) in recent months.

I think he's fine as a broadcast reporter, certainly better than Ted Kravitz.

But having the whole game centred around his personality just hasn't worked.

That said, I hope he can stay involved in Formula One in some respect as he's clearly very, very passionate about it.

Agreed. He's a cock, make no mistake. But in a perverse sense he is a lot more like us 'common' fans than anyone else. It's that he tries too hard that sometimes is his undoing.

Sometimes he needs to try less to be 'hip' (with what he thinks is current popular opinion, he's usually wrong though) and more just tell it how he sees it. Liberating him from a commentary position on a highly biased coverage should help reduce the cock factor by a fair magnitude.

How did he get the ITV job, collect 12 tokens from packets of crisps and submit with a 400 word essay about how excited you can get over nothing?

But if you are anglo saxon it would make sense. You clearly come from the school that accepts all cultures except white anglo-saxon culture.

Just as it would be silly for and Indian to call his son Bryan or Kevin, it is silly for an Englishman to call his son Enzo because he likes Ferrari.

I don't know what he's like as a commentator (he cannot be worse than ours : ), but I have his other book on Schumi "The edge of greatness" and IMO it's a pretty good book.

Have to agree. As much as my ears hate him, he can write a decent enough book.

I like the names Enzo Allen and Emerson Allen. Euphonious.

p.s. I think Emerson has been an English name for centuries. Not that it matters. Everything's exotic. The world is my oyster.

Brazil's good at naming combinations.

You all need to get over yourselves and stop the hating. The guy is doing his job to the best of his abilities and many people appreciate the way he does it. He is qualified for the job and so good luck to him. He's also a really nice guy who doesn't deserve all this **** he gets from internet losers who slag him and his family off because of their names and call him a cock etc. It's pathetic that you have such strong feelings about someone you've probably never met and is merely a motorsport commentator (it's not like he performs executions or abortions or is a criminal etc.) Please stop the hatred to this decent man.

I'm sure he's a lovely guy. As a writer he's not too bad at all. As a comentator he is dreadfull.

I'll stop complaining when he stops putting poo in my ears while I'm trying to watch motor racing.
