Today I was fooling around with Google Earth, and I hadn't loaded it in a very long time, and was looking at all of my old "places" to see what had been updated with new images...

Have they updated the bus stop chicane at Spa AGAIN?

I don't remember reading about it, but it's almost back to its original self.

Now the right jink before the chicane is more pronounced, the left into the bus stop is much longer (not really a chicane anymore...) with a 90 degree right at the end, then the right-left end of the chicane is actually just a smooth transition back onto the F1 main straightaway.

I'm not even certain where the entrance to the pit lane is...

I'm pretty sure this isn't an old image... I've never seen this config...

So when did it change?

No, that map is the layout circa 2005. It hasn't been updated yet...

Hmmmm, I just checked Forix and it appears you are right...

Seeing that course from ground level and driving it certainly doesn't look the same as that satellite image, though...

Unless GTR2 and the like have the 2002 layout, but they should have the 2004-05... It just doesn't look like that from ground level, to me...

Unfortunately I've lost interest in F1 during that time period, so I may very well have no been paying much attention...

Sorry to start a thread, but the google Earth image certainly looked like something had changed again...

The google earth image is the old circuit

What are you talking about? Actually this map provided by google does show the layout which was raced in 08.

the Satellite is the much older 2005 and pre layout...
