This is a shale track but there is some question if cars actually ran at the former track. Help?

Hi,
That track was built in the late 60's /early 70,s as a Trotting track ( thats horse's to me and you :)). It might have been used as a Stock car track ( UK version ) due to the proximity of Hednesford Hills Oval track , but nothing more serious - it did feature an glass fronted grandstand effectively indoors.
There was a well used and reputed kart track at the adjacent Chasewater Park -now under the M6 Toll in you photo. This was subject to compulsory order to build the Toll road. Various relocation sites were offered in the area but the kart club lost out to objectors on the grounds of noise etc !!!
Yet another facilitey lost !

In around 1970 I drove a Barnard Formula 6 car on that track!

Henry, why aren't these new circuit threads you've begun recently all posted within the GERCA thread?! After all, that's why it exists...!

Twinny, I can certainly do that.

My efforts have been to document for future interest and if they are buried in the GERCA thread a search (via thread topic) will not pick them up.

Are you asking that I clean things up a bit by not producing the numerous threads?

If so, I aim to please.

Personally I would rather see these threads left as they are, they are short and concise. This will make them easier to refer to and understand in the future. By all means feature the tracks in the GERCA thread, but please let this chap do his thing!

I had my first ever race at Chasewater Kart circuit, lasted around 60 yards as my over exuberance saw me bury my Sprint Rotax into the fence at the second corner.

Happy Days.

Thanks!

It is up to Twinny, with perhaps some pressure from the membership.

My personal opinion is that a track soon to past into the milky way deserves a seperate thread and perhaps also a mention at GERCA.

However, the GERCA thread can become choppy when numerous conversations are taking place.

Seperate threads can be visited and documented at leasure without a lot of searching.

I personally do not have the ability and knowledge to discuss how many rivets were used to construct a tub for the GT-40, however, I do enjoy spending hours searching for these out of the way tracks and getting them documented.

It is up to you ladies and gentlemen.

Now, where was that track in Bum-F Egypt located?

Well it is in a sense, but essentially I'm here for the common good of the membership and have no intention of changing anything if the majority would prefer it otherwise. :)
