I have a Reynard 89D Formula 3000 from 1989 with Chassis Number 018. The car was shipped from Australia to Switzerland and has now a 4 liter V8 Lexus Toyota engine (Formula 4000 in Australia).
The car has the same color, the same sponsor-stickers and the same starting-number as Jean Alesi had, when he won the Formula 3000 championship for Eddie Jordan Racing.
Who knows something about this car. Thanks for a helpfull feedback.

The car was not an EJR Team car.
It was run by Automotor for Massimo Monti and Franco Scapini in the 1989 F3000 championship.
According to my notes it only actually raced three times.

If memory serves, Monti qualified in Pau - ironically, given that he failed to make the cut for the bigger grids at Silverstone and Vallelunga - but he was one of about 15 drivers involved in a Philippe Favre-inspired startline pile-up and thus didn't complete a racing lap before splitting with the team.

Scapini took over at Jerez but qualified only twice, in Enna and Birmingham.

I thought it was the car that took part at the 1989 round in Birmingham.

Here is some footage of Scapini overtaking Hockenhull for 10th place:

Jo,  I believe your 89D is my car that I ran in Australia between 1999 and 2001 in Formula Holden.  I have seen some of the photos of your car on the internet and can see some unique items that we put on the car, like the oil catch can, top hat oil filler sitting on top of the gearbox and the small aluminium wire support on the nose cone.  We sold the car in late 2001, early 2002 as a roller and the new owner put the Lexus V8 in it.  I'm glad to see it still running.

Regards

Rohan
