These are a few of the pics I have taken over the last few years...am by no means a great photographer, nevertheless I hope there are of some interest. :) These pictures cover most of the Piper Series.

Great pics ZA. Brought back so many memories. Is the blue Gordini the ex Jody Scheckter car by any chance? The first time I saw Jody was in East London flinging one of those around.

The Gordini is a replica of the Scamp Porter car, what happened to the Scheckter Gordini isnt known...sadly so many of the legendary race cars of the past are un accounted for and missing...will post up a few more pics soon.

As an aside in the rain that blue Gordini was the fastest car, overtook the Falcon and was dicing with Sarel vd Merwe in the Galaxie...and its driven by a lady...was one of the best dices I have ever seen....

Cindy Evans-Finney is the driver of the Renault Gordini.

Nice pics...I'll add some more, when I have a couple of minutes to spare.

All good stuff. Wonderful shot of the Galaxie, and the Studebaker is a welcome sight too. Many thanks

It does not have to be in order to entertain, especially when the majority of spectators do not know the difference anyway.

I wasn't meaning to be critical, just trying to answer Zooom's question :)
But a historic car it certainly ain't

I know David. I also prefer pedigree stuff, but It is hard to be a purist out here...you'll sit with grids consisting of 2 or 3 cars in the end.

Some more on what we regard as HISTORIC RACING here in ZA:

Truth be told App K is not viable down here for many reasons, one of them being cost. This is however a whole new subject... :)

I have been very reliably informed by one of the leading lights of the recent FJ tour that all the competitors were totally delighted with their travels in ZA and especially with the East London circuit

BTW, not wishing to be ungracious, but, any more shots of the Galaxie and the Studebaker?

No problem, David!

As a Kiwi you will know that rugby and cricket will always be KING in South Africa. The fact that we still race here in ZA is an accomplishment. Getting overseas competitors is a like winning the jackpot, especially here in Cape Town. We really appreciate all international faces that visit us. Being a competitive nation, our chaps believe they can crush whatever opposition they can get from overseas.
