But only the european season, right? I don't think that there is a link to follow GP2 Asia live...

GP2 Main series is on Setanta? Because Asia is usually on Eurosport, though currently they're overwhelmed with Snooker, WRC, and WSBK.

Yep-very dissapointing.Never been anything on Setanta that I was interested in since it started.Afraid Euro GP2 will not persuade me to subscribe-already paying Sky £46 per month

Shitanta is ****, to all intents and purposes, and by the sounds of it they're screwed financially-sadly for them they seem to get the rights to things that basically no other channel wants (german football, blue square premier, scottish premier league, etc, and though they have some premiership games (going down from 46 games to 23 soon) and the fa cup and england games (fa cup match choice poor, nobody would want to watch boring england games anyway) nobody really wants the channel, its basically a very very cheap poor little brother compared to sky (who show genuinely good quality programmes with good pictures, good presenters for the various sports and are just better in every way)

Looking at their tv listings, they don't seem to be showing GP2 this year.

I have Setanta Ireland and they make no mention of GP2 at all.

They without a doubt have GP2, I was in the pub last night and saw many trailers for it on setanta.....the BBC really are arseholes for selling it onto a subscription channel.

i'm sure shitanta think that having GP2 and DTM will massively increase their subscriber numbers..........they're 1 of the worst channels to show it on (or to show anything on) and when they do, its not even live because of some cricket competition halfway round the world that has a small handful of england players playing

I seriously doubt that. Motorsport outside of F1 wont draw subscribers in any numbers.

They are screwed from may 2010, when their EPL games are cut by half. they will probaly go under

In Brazil, this season will be broadcasted live once again by GloboSat channels SPORTV or SPORTV2, depending on the schedule of other events.

sorry yes, what i meant was given some of the junk they have on there that they think will increase subscribers, they're probably stupid enough to think those 2 series will bring in more

At its height, GP2 on drew in crowds of about 80,000 last season. I can in some respects see why BBC would off load it, but reckon it would have been better off on Dave alongside their WRC coverage. But hey ho, I'll have to go trawling the Interweb to view the races this year.

Is that ITV4 figures? In other countries where it was much more closely snuggled to the F1 coverage it got some freakishly high viewing figures.

Yes. To put into comparison, 250cc and 125cc on British Eurosport had higher than it.

So GP2 gets lower viewers on ITV4 than the Renault Clio Cup. That is staggering, but hysterical.

And that was after ITV put some hefty advertisement into it as well. I blame Charlie Webster. Maybe.

somewhat off-topic but I did want to start a new gp2 thread just for this :

How come gp2 doesn't post the sporting/tech regulations on it's website like FIA does on their series? is it a secret?

so hardly anyone will be able to watch it then-no doubt most races won't even be live anyway!there'd better be highlights on a channel that more than a few people can watch

I haven't been able to watch any GP2 races since the series was moved off the terrestrial channels as I don't get good enough digital signal in my house - I hope that DVD season reviews will be released at some point, although I think it's unlikely to happen.

Strange,I don't remember GP2 being on ITV.My record shows I watched it in Eurosport.Am thinking how to resolve this problem as S**anta also seem to have DTM which was on Motors TV last year. Will either be on international Eurosport? If so might be cheaper to get my analogue satellite fixed and maybe watch it in german.Othewise may have to cancel Skymovies and sign uo to setanta.

At this rate, it's unlikely anyone will be able to even watch GP2 on Setanta, which according to reports today has a month to sort itself out.
