Hi Project X where is it now? I reunited the body and the chassis in the 80's, how they were split up one wonders? It has a backbone chassis with a mini A series in the back, herald lower wishbones, uprights and fabricated top wishbones in the front and an alloy body made in Sydney in the 60's. It was a creation of one of your fellow writers.

SCW ran the build features over at least seven issues (plus their annual Sports Car Specials mag) and this is the result.

If memroy serves correct Project X's creator was Mike McCarthy, a kiwi who came to Australia. Working for motoring journalist/analyst/PR, Pedr Davis at the time of the Project.

As with many Mini based specials they weren't pretty. The first Deep Sanderson springs to mind. Mind you that can be applied to so many specials, no matter what the basis.

Project X with a slightly larger wheel/tyre combination would be an improvement.

Good to hear Daren has finally found the whereabouts.

I read all those articles on Project X at the time and was greatly interested particularly as I worked at BMC at the time, good to know that it has survived.
