'The Green Helmet' movie: what's the sports-racer?

I was watching the Turner Classic Movies channel at the gym today, the 1961 b/w movie GREEN HELMET. Anyone recognize the 'dressed up' sports car they used? It has a Jag motor, but the body is either somebody's one-off or the film company's deliberate fake. Could it be a Lister? I doubt even in 1961 that they'd dress up a D Type. In one scene it's being chased by a bare-alloy Lister.
Nice Gordon GT (not a Gordon Keeble I think, which was built later than '61), plenty of Maserati "Birdcage" footage too. Corny story but what the hell.
I'd love to get a DVD of the movie, partly to try and spot a contemporary British stock-car racer who has an uncredited role as a mechanic.
If you've seen the movie --- what's the car? I will try to link or paste a hood-off photo here.

This has been discussed elsewhere, including here, post 158:

A Costin Lister-Jag apparently.

A big thank-you to the reply posters --- prompt, polite, and informative, as always on this excellent forum. Re: the movie, it was lovely to see Silverstone with the WW2 hangars, and the little single-storey cinder-block row of pit garages.
