Hi.

My names Rich and I've been riding motorcycles since my dad bought my first when I was 4. He raced for 20 years, as did my uncle, at various road, sand and grass events, mainly sidecars.

I raced for 10 seasons (road race solos) and won 9 club championships plus a couple of reps in the Junior and Senior Manx.

Whilst not officially retired from racing (I'm 46) I generally busy myself building race bikes.

Hi Rich and welcome

It would be good to hear more about your exploits - if you'd care to share some of them!

Got any photos of you or your dad racing perhaps?

Cheers!

Barry.

Hi all.

My names Lance,I'm from Bedfordshire and have been into anything with two wheels and an engine since my dad took me to Hawkstone Park as a five year old.

I've only ever raced club enduros and a couple of AMCA motocross meetings, but been attending Snetterton/Brands since the Seventies as a spectator.

Needless to say it's the nostalgia forum that has piqued my interest,(among my small collection of bikes I have a couple in production race trim).

All of the pictures bring back memories,I don't remember most of the names but just seeing them brings it all back.

hi my name is mark have been a member for quite some time but until now have not found time to introduce myself. have been reading posts quite often and have found a majority to be so interesting its hard to put the ipad away.

i have one problem and hope someone can provide a fix and that is opening images that have been posted. not all but a lot appear as 'posted image' with a 'X' in the left hand corner and will not open. is this a common problem? thanks in advance for any help offered.

Hi Mark

Glad you have been enjoying the forum!

I also get what you describe when looking at old posts. I have always assumed that its because the photos are no longer available or deleted from the poster's image-hosting application (such as Image Shack, Photobucket, etc). I might be wrong of course, and if so, no doubt someone else will come along with the correct answer!

Don't be shy - if you got some photos or memories to share we'd love to see them!

Barry.

Hello, Another Mark here.  I've never been a motorcycle racer but started out on road bikes as a teenager getting on 26 years ago.  Had a break away from riding bikes about 13 years ago when the family came along (switched to a caterham 7) but recently got back into old bikes (well old for me).  Always liked old vehicles.  So after a trip was organised to the classic TT 2 years ago my friends talked me into buying a bike to take.  Well and truly got the bug back and began buying bikes I wish i'd bought a few years ago.  With the exception of a Honda CB400/4 which I bought for my first IOM Classic trip I've ended up without a caterham but instead have 5 two strokes I always fancied.

A kawasaki H1 from 1970, a KH500 from 1976 (restoration project), Kawasaki Kr1, Kawasaki KR1s and most recently a Yamaha Spondon F2 race bike (which I plan to parade).  Loving twiddling with the bikes and enjoy reading the forum stories from yesteryear.

Mark

Hello all, I'm Dom. I started watching racing when I was about 5 with my Dad, both GP and F1, and all manner in between. My Dad used to race a Lambretta with Ralf Saxilby back in the day, I guess the motorcycle thing stayed with me yet I've never raced.
I've been an avid GP fan for years, but anything with two wheels and at least one horsepower is of interest.

Greetings. My name is Bill Snelling, I live on a little rock in the Irish Sea, which four weeks of the year comes alive with bikes! I manage FoTTofinder Bikesport Photo Archives, which has over a quarter million images of the TT, MGP, Southern 100 and Andreas racing (road and airfield). My main selling arm is www.TTracepics.com, where we have something like 25,000 images available in all formats,  prints, posters, mugs, jigsaw puzzles (surprisingly popular!) plus other media. I was fortunate enough to race three Manx Grand Prix, and finish all three - not fast, but not last was my motto. I also rode MCC long-distance trials on mainly Velocette machinery, with some success. Each week we add a few more to our selling list, if you have any requests just let us know, we will try and source pics from our many collections.
