That's a tough call.
I'll go for JPS just because it looked totally bad ass. :)

JPS all the way, still see the Marlboro livery on Penske Indy Cars and JPS looks much better.

Holy smoke! Anyway, black isn't my favourite colour and that makes the Marlboro choice easy for me! I'm still gutted that Ferrari doesn't have its 2007 livery today, it was awesome!

JPS for sentimental reasons. One of the first F1 cars I've seen on a photo in my life. Back then we were not able to watch F1 on TV.

Forget the livery... I miss he driver. :(
I saw most of his career, qualifying laps included.
And I and some of his fans have to live with that MS is better crap.

JPS. But I really miss the Mild Seven/Telefonica Renaults.

And MS was "better" as package.

JPS was so stylish in its black and golden, even other logos didn't spoil it. The best Marlboro red-white was IMHO 1980 Alfa Romeo.
There have been other great color schemes: blue-white Ligier-Gitanes, golden Arrows-Warsteiner and even black-white Brabham-Parmalat.

I never like the livery of a Mild 7 car. :/

I did love the scheme on the MP4-17D.

both are classic I miss them both

also

Player's, Pennzoil and Valvoline and Newman-Haas Texaco Havoline (Black and white) from the mid 90' CART days

But most of all I miss 28 Havoline from NASCAR in mid 90'

both were iconic.

JPS was ending when I became a fan, so I went w/ Marl.

As with others, it's Senna that I miss the most

I voted JPS because it was always associated with Ronnie Peterson, Colin Chapman, the Lotus 72e - the most amazing racing car and the old Woodcote corner [when Silverstone was a real racers circuit].

I mostly miss the livery of Phil Hill's Ferrari, or even Chris Amon's.

black-white Brabham-Parmalat.

Actually, that was dark blue and white, and yes, it was definitely a classic look.

As for the original question, I think the JPS livery looked classier but the Marlboro livery was more creative. I was never a huge fan of either one though, but since there's so much white and red and very little black on the grids today, I'd have to go with JPS.

Great looking thing. RIP Greg Moore, little doubt he could have made it to the top.

I preferred Andretti's all black Newman-Haas car over the white and black.

I voted for the JPS,
because the Marlboro livery still can be watched in the Indycar,
ofcourse without the name 'Marlboro'.

JPS was special, if you saw them in life you wouldnt pick the Marlboro car over it, TV doesnt do it justice.

Even though its won ugliest F1 car ever awards, I always liked the BAR half Lucky Strike/ half 555 colour scheme and if they had chosen the 555 colour scheme I reckon that would be one of the outstanding looking F1 cars ever - but......

JPS of course, Long time reader, hardly a poster here, but I'm a big fan of Lotus and JPS so, I wanted to write :)

Anyone here with uber photoshp techniques that can make a modern day Formula 1 wear those liveries? I'd love to see that.

Agreed, that Players is my favorite all time scheme as well, really nothing close I can think of.

Re the choices, definitely JPS. The marlboro obviously has a huge amount of success and tradition via McLaren and Penske, but on color and design alone isn't much. Look at the difference the West colors made when they joined Mac.

If we're talking about lung buster liveries I'd have to go with the Ligiers from the early 1990s.

Those cars were beautiful in the blue and white.
