Good looking bike. Looks like it has a ttx rear and 25mm kit front. Has it got the kit ECU?
Should be good for 5 seconds a lap :-) Will you have white plates next year? Does AFM use yellow/white plates?
Ohlins all around, yep. Has the original Ohlins valving and everything so it will be a good starting point. Kit ECU, Dynojet electronics, Supersport motor.. should be as competitive as I can ride it.
I have 3 race weekends left before I get my expert license and white plates. It looks like AFM will do a full-on Novice class next year, so I may be competing for a championship on top of running the expert races. 1:45's at Sears Point should be doable before the season is done.

This is dead on, whether you're talking about MotoGP and F1. It's the reason that Max was right to push the carmakers out of F1.
Loved the two part Clifford interview at motomatters. Such straight speaking and honesty.
No, it's a load of rubbish
" Honda are manufacturers first and racers second; they can stop any time, it's not their core business is it? So when you lose the WCMs and the Team Roberts and so forth, you lose any vestige of stability."
So how many Honda based bikes in MotoGP in 2010 and how many Honda powered teams in Moto2? How many years have Honda been in motorcycling? THE major manufacturer in motorcycles, Honda, even after a bad year is very stable still. I think it's just sour grapes from someone who has an axe to grind after biting off more than he could chew at the wrong time.
"they can stop any time" .. yeah but they didn't, unlike you. Go cry me a river.

I think the only carmaker that you can really say will ALWAYS go prototype racing is Ferrari. All others will do so as long as it makes sense.

Not much of a Clifford fan. He should have stuck to journalism IMO, but he has got a point. No, it's a load of rubbish

Honda have taken their toys and gone home once already, back in the days when their 4 strokes were being swamped by the 2 stroke revolution. It took them another 15 years before they decided to come back, and they will go again if it suits them.
It´s not about motorcycle racing and the fans that follow the sport. It´s just business, nothing else.

Yep. Could you imagine the business in motogp if Honda were running at the rear? Were they not evaluating their total motorsports operations when BAR Honda pulled out of F1? Honda has to win... its good for business. thats why Pedrosa is always on the hot seat from Repsol and Japan every other year. Not much of a Clifford fan. He should have stuck to journalism IMO, but he has got a point.

Think of it after the winner of Moto 2. They will say something like " I want to thank Honda they are the best" bike engine or something like that. But its good publicity for riders to say that even though nobody else is in Moto2

wrt to new threads, maybe we should do the same as last year, an off season thread and then a 2010 thread when the superbikes kick off.

I don´t know about the others, but I´m quite happy with the single thread format. Makes it easier to take it all in without having to hop about the forum. How about the 2010 - MotoGP silly season (Moto2; WSBK; AMA; BSB) thread.

I suppose it's easy to kick Honda while it's momentarily down, but to say that a company with this pedigree is just about widgets and profits is nutty. They have more GP constructor championships than ANY other marque. Saying Honda is just a business is like saying grand prix is just a business. It´s just business, nothing else.
Since Honda, like every single other company in the history of motorsport, isn't a charity, it has to worry about the bottom line in addition to corporate pride, but that doesn't mean that they don't care about maintaining their racing legacy. Agree w/ Andy -- Clifford's talking nonsense.
