I'm a level 40 (highest level). As for favorites, uh... the 125 SPL kart you get when you buy the Spa-Francorchamps DLC. Mostly because it's the only thing I really race online. But the Ferrari F2007 and F10 are great as well. As for a non-race car, probably the Nissan GT-R. Or any Skyline based car. Just an easy car to drive at 100%.

Did the Sebastien Vettel events in the Special events and got Bronze in each which still gets you the X2010. Personally don't care for that car and the X2011 as they are just at the limit at all times. No room for mistakes with the turbine. Fun for when you want to run the Indy 500 endurance race and want to finish quickly and put 30-40 laps on the entire field.

Really looking forward to the F2007 in Cherry coke red. :cat: Karting is pure fun, maybe we will race each other when I experienced some more level.

I heard the SV event is very hard and now hearing you got bronze makes me think it is very hard.

The SV event consists of two laps. One is an out-lap and the other is the flying lap, with the timer starting when they release you from the last pit stall. Bronze is a bit easy to get. Silver and Gold are only a few second apart, but they are like 8-10 seconds ahead of bronze that at least for me, I simply don't know how to get there.

Okay, really want to get to this level! Maybe you need a steering wheel?

You can get the X2011 also as gift when reaching level 40 in B spec

SV challenges are real pain. Gold at Monza, silver at Nürburgring GP (+0.018s) and bronze at Suzuka (I haven't tried this much because I want to solve Nürburgring first). I wish GT6 doesn't have those machines at all.

Those two events are for me also last two remaining golds to achieve 100% in GT5.

Too right! That RudeBull car(?!) is my least favourite car in all the GT games!!

Last time (and it will be the last time, believe me!) I tried one of the SV challenges I had to change my t-shirt after as I was completely drenched in sweat!!

Games = fun? Nyah! Not always!

There is a way for Monza. I haven't played the game for a long time, but I think you can cut the chicanes. I have got a silver there. Apart from that it is all Bronze.

Which one? I maybe buy the 99 EUR GT5 official steer as it must be good with it being official made for the game and stuff.

No. I'm not a girl. And (tut-tut!) you shouldn't be asking for things like that around here!

I spent a whole day trying it. I was so innconsistent that I eventually gave up figuring that I'd turned into Luca Badoer! :well:

Yeah, all licenses gold, all race events (even enduros) gold, all trophys but 100% completion acquired, all special event challenges gold but SV Nürburgring GP and Suzuka.

I personally would want GT6 to have more of these challenges. Good to have Sebastian Vettel involved in some way in the game. These challenges have probably a 3 second margin for error to get Gold with SRF, probably a lot less margin without it. I guess probably main reason for such big margin to get Gold by is for people who use gamepad to be able to get Gold still. I may attempt these challenges again one day and see how much I can beat Gold time without SRF.

Skid Recovery Force? It doesn't give much handicap or make you slower in these challenges since they are fixed and there are no 3 seconds margin for error. Half second error and you won't get gold. At some point game revision had glitches on track and lot of people did get gold as freebies due they were able to escape track to "bit space" and cheat it. Patches fixed the issue.

SV challenge are easy (to drive!) and natural to control with wheel, but if you are super good with gamepad it has advantage on quick turns: thumb move within 2 cm is quicker than hands with few hundreds degree with wheel.

Red Bull ghost car gets jumpstart and you have to follow it from pitlane for two laps with no errors. They even say ghost car time is not fast enough for gold. Monza allowed shortcutting and player was able to catch ghost car and if keeping up wth the speed, gold was quite easy to gain. Nürburgring and Suzuka are not.

Skid Recovery Force makes you able to go a lot faster especially how the car is setup for the actual challenge. What I meant by 3 seconds margin for error is regarding if one drove to the limit with SRF, a time lower than 2:07 should be possible on Suzuka which gives you about 3 seconds margin to get Gold from the absolute limit. Not using SRF, I would think there will be less margin of error, probably a second or less at most on say Suzuka.

I think responsiveness of steering wheel gives a big advantage and only top times can be really achieved with the steering wheel for this challenge I think, to do something like a 2:06.9 for example on this challenge at Suzuka with a gamepad might be impossible.

My crucial part at Nurburgring is S chicane before pit entry. I think it would be much easier (the corner) with gamepad.

I know SRF helps a lot with other cars in GT5, but for Redbull monster same rules doesn't apply.

Have you tried with gamepad, I think you have to be on an another level to do it as well on gamepad as you have to anticipate things much earlier and also be more committed.

SRF does help a lot in this Vettel Challenge due to the way the car is setup. If they put it on max downforce then it wouldn't have helped as much as it currently does. If you want to get the most out of SRF with this car and also make it easy, just turn more than normal on the slow corners and SRF will do the magic. Making front tyres go red on indicator while cornering will show you are using tyres enough to make use of SRF. Here is a video of a quick run on this challenge: . Looking at video it looks like there is time to do less than 2:05 on that challenge, and probably the limit for an alien fast driver is below 2:04 if everything is maximised.

Thanks for video, I will check it when I got off from work.

When I won first free Red Bull I took it on test drive and it was very restless even with wheel especially on straight. In SV challenge, it behaves more better so I think event is fixed.
I have tried car with gamepad on oval and it's very bad.

SV challenge allows you to adjust brakebias/force, TC, ABS and skid recovery on and off. No fine tuning allowed.

Been getting into GT5 again after my PS3 was stolen last year along with my save game data. Back up to level 24 or so. Had some great fun winning the Schwarwald B races in a BMW M3. Cape ring is a brilliant track. Exactly what I love about GT5, fantasy based in reality.

I love the Cape Ring as well, and all it's variations... I just wish there was still Midfield Raceway and others, as like you say Gran Turismo make THE best fantasy circuits.

If your system is connected, go to the Seasonal Events. Depending on what you have as cars, you can rake up credits, ranging from 100,000 for a race using basic road going cars, to upwards of a million for races using full on race cars. Having saved the credits to buy a car you want means more than having the necessary amount. Win more as until you find your car (which I'll get back to next), you might find other cars you want, or need to compete in certain events.

But going back to finding your car. Each race and IIRC each practice you run, the game in effect moves to another day. Which means to the Used Car Dealership is that new cars come in. For me, that can comes along a bit more frequently than other cars, and seeing as your only a level 23, running the A-Spec races, there are many opportunities for that car to come along.

Racing online with this game is a bit of hit and miss. Sometimes you can come across a great room, but odds are than you'll find a bunch of people who shouldn't be online, in terms of actual driving ability with the game, and in terms of how they act with other people driving around them. You need to play a bit to find the right friends to race with. They might run only a few types of cars or styles of racing, but they get pretty tight knit. I found a bunch of good racers in the kart rooms and really find the atmosphere there a hell of a lot more fun than most rooms. For just pure start and racing online though, the Shuffle Rooms are the best. Well, unless you get stuck with a bad car, but it's only one race (3 to 5 laps) until you get another car.

For how immense the game is, it is sadly a bit lacking in many aspects. Not that many tracks in all honestly, the Standard Cars suck. The physics compared to the Premium Cars are sadly lacking. I don't mind the lack in interior design (which just means to me that Polyphony Digital either got lazy or overambitious on their goals), but make every car actually decent to drive. You cannot tell me that the Audi and Mercedes DTM cars of the early 2000's where that bad to drive. Or any of the Group B rally cars.

Thx! I played last weekend in some Honda event and tuned my Civic like nuts and got millions of credits + level 27 now + got as prize The legendary Mazda LM racer winner and this car has mucho speed, but hard to control it in corners, really drives totally different than normal street cars just like in the real, so enjoying it. (:

Turn up the Traction Control if you need to. Set it to 10 and while it will likely bog down in the corners and you'll loose time, it's easier to handle, and with practice, the Mazda 787b will beat all cars in game offline.

Guys. I REALLY need help.

After performing a data trnsfer between 2 PS3s I tried to access my GT5 game. It's f**ked! THe DLC (that I bought and paid for) all shows as locked and\or not available except the twin ring track. I purchased the racecar pack, trackspack, paintpack Total pack and twin ring. In the download manager in the game everything shows as Ïnstall complete. When the machine is online everything is open and available yet as soon as I disconnect the internet connection it's all gone or locked.

How in the hell can it all show as Ïnstall complete? When I go to playstation store it wants me to pay for the track/carpacks again!! W...T...F??

Anyone ogt any ideas..... before I take the disc and throw it in the garbage disposal?

Did you also install those packs in game?

When you download them from store, it installs them. But you have to further install them in game.

Or is the issue other way around? You have other PS3 with full patched GT5 but you have not downloaded cars into ps3 from playstation store?

3rd option is that new PS3 system is not linked to your account and you cannot use it before you do so.

I've heard of that final option you listed before. I believe when you switch system's due to the system dying or that sort, you don't get to deactivate the machine, making it so you need to contract PlayStation to switch account, or allow the move (however they do that).

If not the issue, and your account is working fine on your new system, it could be like iTunes pre-Cloud, where you lose you stuff, you are forced to re-purchase unless you are able to convince those cool guys from the call center in India to allow you to re-download.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear with that post. (I was very very angry, as you can probably see by the amount of typos!!)

The procedure I followed was:- (can be found here: http://manuals.plays...ings/index.html )

1) Connect current active (source) machine to PSN and sync trophies. (wasn't too bothered about trophies, but what the hell!)

2) Disable wireless connection on both PS3s (source>destination) and inter-connect with internet cable.

3) Go to Settings>System Settings>Data Transfer Utility on source machine and select "Transfer data from this system to the other PS3 system"

4) Go to Settings>System Settings>Data Transfer Utility on destination machine and select "Transfer data from other PS3 system to this system"

5) Enable wireless connection on source machine and got to "Account Managment" and select "Deactivate this system"

6) Enable wireless connection on destination machine and got to "Account Managment" and select "Activate this system"

This should be the complete procedure. As I said, when the (now active) new machine is online everything shows as open and available. As soon as the machine is offline everything is gone or locked except the twin ring tracks. I dowloaded the two new corvettes and they show as available on and offline.

I sent a mail with a description to PSN helpdesk, but as yet no reply. :well:

NB. All my photo data is also gone. All other DLC (and RE2 PSN dowload) for All other games is working fine so, what do you know? It's just GT5 that's screwing me over again!!!

NNB. When I go to the in-game download manager everything is marked "Install complete"

Hard to help further since I've never experienced same.

It won't let me! everything shows as "install comlplete" but PlayStation store says (e.g racecarpack, which is present and available online) "Pay Euro 7,99" Whe I check the e-mail conformations, I dowloaded the "TotalPack" which doesn't seem to exist anymore. None of this explains why I have everything available only when the machine is online, because as I said before everything shows as "install comlplete" ingame.

Have you tried your download list? (Link). If you download all your GT5 DLC again on there and install again, it might fix things.

The Total Pack which I purchased is not available anymore in PS store. If I try what you say (and I'm assuming you mean download overview list in Playstationstore) it says that is not possible as it sees everything as installed in the PS3 hard drive itself. (i.e can't download track pack because total pack is installed.) Each component of the totalpack is visible seperately in ingame dowload overview and all is marked as "install complete" (Istallatie voltooid)

Edit: Just did a search of "GT5 Totaalpack" Aparently I'm not the only person in NL that has experienced this problem....

After some research it would appear that the 'family pack' (for multiple user accounts on one PS3), which I didn't download as I am (sadly  ) the only user, can solve this problem. When I check my garage all the cars that are locked are all in the list twice. I have no idea why! :drunk:

One thing is for damn sure,.... if it doesn't work and a 'fix' involves de-install/re-install, re-update and playthrough, I would rather get rid of the game and get 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' or something. I mean,... if I'm going to have to take pain it might as well be a different type of pain! :well:

You should be able to get the Family Pack by logging into your PSN/SEN account and purchasing these.
Familie-upgrade voor Circuitpack
Familie-upgrade voor Raceautopack

They should be available as you bought this: Gran Turismo® 5 Totaalpack

You won't need to playthrough the game again, regardless. Make sure though to backup your game save if you haven't already to USB memory device (FAT32 File System). You should be able to get it working by either getting family pack or uninstalling DLC content and then reinstalling again. I haven't tried before but when I say uninstall DLC, try and uninstall the 100KB GT5 DLC files if possible and then download them again.

The first thing I thought of was to uninstall the DLC content and then reinstall it again. I just couldn't figure out how!

I'll try the family pack first, I hope to hell that it is that simple, as this game has driven me (excuse the pun!) absolutely nuts since day one!

NB. I got halfway through reading those before I actually realised they are in Dutch. I'm just not differenciating English/Dutch at all anymore!! :smoking:
