I've played the Trackmania games on and off since 2006 and I've never found myself being truly bored, especially with United Forever.

The draw with Trackmania has to be, without a doubt, how radically different each of the seven environments are and how different they play from one another. Stadium is pretty entertaining for what it is, but I'd have to say that Bay and Coast each hold a place in my heart. I like the Bay environment because it allows me to make sprawling urban metropolis circuits.

Coast is my newest love. I used to detest it because it felt like nothing more than a jungle/village setting with terrible handling, but after finding out how to make Grand Prix-esque circuits and adjusting to the demanding handling of the Coast cars, I've come to appreciate it a heck of a lot.

So, who else still plays Trackmania to any extent? Which version do you guys play?

And to those who don't even know what Trackmania is (which is becoming pretty rare these days), head on over to http://www.trackmania.com and try out the free version of the game, Trackmania Nations Forever.

If you enjoy that, then you can shell out about $20 or $30 of your hard earned dollars for Trackmania United Forever, which is basically seven times greater than the free version given all the options.

And, of course, you can paint your own cars and create your own tracks. The editors are quite impressive for what they are, and your created tracks can be as realistic or wild as you wish.

Both cars and tracks can be shared online, and that is one of the main draws to the game.

To top it off, here are some of the things you can do in Trackmania:
A wild Bay circuit that someone made:
One of my simplistic Coast circuits:
The Stadium environment is very fast and intense:
A very interesting Snow environment track:
A Rally track. The cars are very flimsy and love to roll:
The speed can get very excessive on Island tracks:
Last but not least, the Desert environment:

And hey...

I'm siding with the F1 drivers, the Martini ad is distracting. That damn sign made me crash twice!
